Obbe Vermeij, a developer who used to work at Rockstar Games started his blogs recently on November 11 that delved into some behind-the-scenes scenarios and gave fans a new perspective on his time working at Rockstar North. In his posts, he talked about the development of older Grand Theft Auto games and even projects that were in development by the company.

Some of his blogs even discussed scrapped Rockstar Games projects. These games include a Scottish zombie survival game and Agent, which was never officially canceled by the company, but Obbe Vermeij goes into its collapsed development.

The developer took down his blogs because apparently, the staff at Rockstar Games didn’t like ruining the company’s mystique. He discussed in a statement that he received an email from Rockstar Games about this, and although he thought discussing 20-year-old games wouldn’t be a problem, he was wrong. He said:

Today I got an email from Rockstar North. Apparently some of the OGs there are upset by my blog. I genuinely didn't think anyone would mind me talking about 20-year-old games but I was wrong. Something about ruining the Rockstar mystique or something. Anyway, this blog isn't important enough to me to piss off my former colleagues in Edinburgh so I'm winding it down. I'll maybe just leave a few articles with anecdotes that don't affect anyone but me. I would love for Rockstar to open up about the development of the trilogy themselves, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon. Maybe I'll try again in a decade or two.

Obbe Vermeij later clarified in a tweet that Rockstar Games or anyone at the company did not force him to take down his blogs and he did that on his own. He said the email was “just a former colleague letting me know that several people in North didn't like the Blog. That's all.”

Vermeij's statement points towards how Rockstar Games keeps its video games a secret and doesn't share the process through which they're developed. The company refuses to take risks when it comes to its games and seldom talks about its game developments or canceled projects. On top of this Rockstar's co-founder and president, Sam Houser, hasn't talked to the press in several years.

What are some features players can expect to see in GTA 6?

Last year, 90 early development videos of GTA 6 were leaked, giving fans a look at some of the game’s gameplay features and mechanics. From then onwards, more and more leaks have been surfacing on the internet, some of them have proof to back up their claim while the rest are just a shot in the dark. Some rumors suggest that GTA 6 will reportedly feature single-player expansions, while some claim that the game will feature co-op gameplay.

Lately, many rumors and leaks have been going around suggesting that similar to Red Dead Redemption, GTA 6 might also feature an aging and hair-growing system. Moreover, the game will also reportedly use an AI Debug Menu, meaning that it’ll feature dynamic environments, advanced AI Intelligence, and more!
