One of the most iconic films in recent years is Spider-Man: No Way Home which brought three generations of Spider-Man/ Peter Parker together in one movie. Along with Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire are the villains from the Spider-Man trilogy and the Amazing Spider-Man sequels. Before No Way Home came out, there were also rumors that their female leads would appear which was supposed to include Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy. Stone finally breaks silence on the rumored scrapped appearance of her character years after the release of No Way Home.

Recently, in MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, it was revealed by Erik Sommer and Chris McKenna, No Way Home's writers, that early in the pre-production of the movie, they penned a version of the script including Kirsten Dunst's Mary Jane Watson, Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy, and Sally Field's Aunt May. Sommer and McKenna said that the ideas were scrapped because they thought that the story was already too stuffed. Speaking with ComicBook.com, Emma Stone broke her silence on the scrapped Gwen Stacy appearance in No Way Home saying, "No. I have never heard that before. This is awesome. This is a big moment for me. Thank you for telling me."

Emma Stone also made a comment on the call of the fans for her to play Spider-Gwen and the actress revealed, "Oh my God. That's again, new information. Everyone? Everyone in the world?" The actress seemingly cannot believe that fans are calling for her Spider-Gwen portrayal.

Will there be Spider-Man 4 after No Way Home?

So far, the current line-up of the Marvel Cinematic Universe does not include a Spider-Man 4 movie until the end of the Multiverse Saga. That being said, the doors aren't closing in on the next chapter of the story of Peter Parker in the MCU. Recently, Tom Holland revealed that he is willing to reprise the role of Spider-Man for another movie with the condition that he would only do so if it would be worthwhile to give the character another chance and not just for the sake of making a movie. That means, if there is a narrative worthy of the appearance of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, then, a Spider-Man 4 movie with any other word with "home" could come out sometime after MCU's Phase 6. Regardless, Spider-Man is expected to be back in the MCU as the story would need the Avengers teaming up once again.
