The Good Smile Company recently announced that they are adding some new stuff to their POP UP PARADE line. The only thing these items have in common with each other is that they all come from the anime that belongs to Studio Trigger, i.e., Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The company is set to introduce brand-new Rebecca, David, and Lucy figures, which will be released in June 2024.
Shintaro Egashira and Shun Hayami from the Klamp Studio are behind Cyberpunk: Edgerunners figures, with the former being the sculptor and the latter having painted them. You can see the height specifications for all three figures below:
Lucy - 175mm
David - 170mm
Rebecca - 165mm
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunner figures from the POP UP PARADE are inspired by Rafal Jaki and Mike Pondsmith’s original anime, which goes by the same name. Set in the same universe as the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, the anime series launched last year on Netflix. You can see their character figures below:
In the anime, Kenn/Zach Aguilar plays the role of David Martinez, Aoi Yuki/Emi Lo as Lucy Kushinada, and Tomoyo Kurosawa/Alex Cazares as Rebecca. Fans can preorder the character figures from Good Smile Company here.
On top of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners figures, Ryuko from Kill la Kill is also set to receive a 255mm figure. Set to release in April 2024, the figure was sculpted by Maoji, painted by Tomofumi (WATANA BOX), and costs $60. The production style of Kill la Kill was similar to that of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and was the inspiration for Studio Trigger to keep moving forward.

Kill la Kill became a huge success due to Ryuko’s amazing character and the anime series’ quick pacing, which kept the viewers hooked throughout. Ami Koshimizuku/Erica Mendez was the voice behind Ryuko in the popular anime. Fans can get their hands on the Ryuko figure as well as the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners figures once they are released on their respective dates.
What's next in store for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners?
During an interview with Famitsu, CD Projekt Red's community manager Satoru Honma disclosed some plans for the future of the anime as well as Cyberpunk. He said, "I personally would like to continue to work with Japanese studios to produce more anime in the future, partly because we have received very good feedback [...] However, just to be clear, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was planned as a standalone work, so there’s no such thing as ‘we are actually working on Season 2 in the background."
Although there won't be a Season 2, we do hope the studio keeps making more Cyberpunk content in the form of anime series. With the amount of views and popularity Cyberpunk: Edgerunners received after its release, we aren't surprise that Honma wants to continue producing more anime in the future.
