Bride of the Barrier Master Shares New Character Videos for Hana and Saku

A scorned twin hiding an immense secret power and the clan head who saw right through her step into the spotlight in Bride of the Barrier Master's newest videos.

Hana Ichise and Saku Ichinomiya have stepped forward in a pair of character videos for Bride of the Barrier Master that began streaming on Sunday. The two videos put the romantic fantasy's lead couple front and center, with Akari Kito voicing Hana and Kikunosuke Toya voicing Saku.

The videos were posted on the official website of Bride of the Barrier Master on November 8, landing the same day as the anime's special stage at Animate Girls Festival 2026. Each video is a short introduction built around one of the two leads and the role they play in the story.

Hana's video introduces the younger Ichise twin, a daughter of a branch family of barrier practitioners who has been scorned as a failure next to her gifted older sister Hazuki. It follows the girl who chose to hide the immense power that awoke in her, all so she could keep living a quiet, ordinary life.

Saku's video turns to the young head of the Ichinomiya main family, an arrogant but undeniably skilled practitioner with a reputation that precedes him. His footage centers on the moment he sees through Hana's secret and forcefully presses her into a contract marriage.

The pair lead a cast that also includes Kanon Takao as Hana's twin sister Hazuki and Hiroto Shimizu as Saku's younger brother Nozomu. Yuzuki Tamukai voices Azuha, the shikigami who rests on Hana's hair like an ornament, while Taihi Kimura and M.A.O play Aoi and Miyabi, the human-form shikigami Hana created.

Toru Kitahata directs the anime at TROYCA, with Minami Murayama designing the characters and Yuko Kakihara handling the series composition and scripts. Yukari Hashimoto, Ruka Kawada and R.O.N compose the music for the series.

What Is Bride of the Barrier Master About?

The anime adapts Kureha's light novel series of the same name, published by Kadokawa under its Kadokawa Bunko label with illustrations by Bodax. The novels have reached seven volumes in Japan, and a manga adaptation by Odayaka has reached eight volumes, with Yen Press releasing both the novels and the manga in English. The story is a romantic fantasy built around barrier magic, five guardian clans and a marriage contract neither lead expected.

Yen Press describes the story as follows:

For thousands of years, Japan has been protected by five clans wielding barrier-weaving magic. Born to a branch family of one such clan, eighteen-year-old Hana has always been stuck in the shadow of her more capable, beautiful, and popular twin sister. When a strong power awakens within Hana, she chooses to hide it so she can continue living a quiet life out of the spotlight. But that ideal lifestyle begins to slip out of reach when Saku Ichinomiya takes over as the new head of the Ichinomiya clan and sets out to find a bride strong enough to stand by his side. Eager to keep her abilities secret, Hana steers clear of Saku... but will she be tempted to sign a marriage contract if it guarantees the peaceful, quiet future of her dreams?
