The Forgers have two new missions ahead of them. A fourth season of SPY×FAMILY is officially in production, and the franchise's second movie is happening too, with both projects announced at the SPY×FAMILY ANIME EXTRA MISSION II event in Tokyo today.

Confirmation came through the official website of SPY×FAMILY shortly after the event. The announcement confirms that production has been decided for both the new season and the second theatrical film, with staff and further details set to follow at a later date.

A teaser visual drawn by character designer Satoshi Kadowaki was released for the season alongside the news. It shows the whole family out on a Berlint street, with Loid tipping his hat, Anya beaming in her Eden Academy uniform, Yor smiling in a pink coat and Bond trotting beside them in a bow tie as newspapers swirl through the air.

EXTRA MISSION II is the series' first large standalone event in about two and a half years, held at Belle Salle Takadanobaba across afternoon and evening shows. Eight members of the main cast appeared on stage, including Takuya Eguchi, Atsumi Tanezaki, Saori Hayami, Kenichiro Matsuda, Kensho Ono, Natsumi Fujiwara, Emiri Kato and Ayane Sakura.

Animation production on the series is handled by WIT Studio and CloverWorks, and the franchise has moved quickly since its debut. Season 1 aired across two cours in 2022 and Season 2 followed in 2023, before Season 3 arrived in October 2025 and dug into Loid's wartime childhood.

Its first film, SPY×FAMILY CODE: White, opened in Japanese theaters in December 2023 with an original story by Endo and a screenplay by Ichiro Okouchi. The film then rolled out to theaters worldwide the following spring, giving the Forgers their first big-screen mission.

What is SPY×FAMILY Season 4 about?

Season 4 continues Tatsuya Endo's action-comedy manga from the point Season 3 reached, the end of the Red Circus storyline in Mission 78. Everything the new season needs is already published, so Season 4 is expected to work through the arcs that follow in the manga's order.

First up is the Mole Hunt arc, where the theft of sensitive WISE files sparks a hunt for a traitor that puts Operation Strix itself in danger. Anya then faces her first term final exams at Eden Academy in the Term Finals arc, where a poor showing could end her school life — and the mission along with it.

The Love and War arc steps back in time with Henry Henderson and Martha Marriott, whose shared past stretches from their school days to the first war between East and West. Season 4 is then expected to slow down for the Term Break arc, as Anya enjoys time away from Eden while a quiet clue about her past surfaces, and it could also reach the Poacher Hunt arc, which sends Yor into the forests of Ostania to protect endangered elk from hunters.
