What is There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her about?
The anime is based on Kairi's manga adaptation of Suisei's isekai romantic comedy light novel series of the same title, and the manga is credited as the original work. Suisei first launched the story on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2013, and Futabasha began publishing the light novels with illustrations by La-na in 2014.
Kairi's manga adaptation launched on Futabasha's Gaugau Monster website in 2021 and has reached 12 collected volumes. The series is an isekai romantic comedy set in a fantasy world, following a human reincarnated as a demon and the hero's priestess he falls for.
Crunchyroll describes the series as follows:
Reincarnated as a mid-tier demon, Youki had one job: Crush the hero's party. Then he saw the party's priestess, Cecilia, and fell for her hard. Now this lovestruck demon vows to confess his feelings, even if it means betraying the Demon King. Will love bloom between these two sworn enemies?
No premiere date or streaming details have been announced for Season 2 yet. The official website says further updates on the new season will be shared as they are decided, so more news on Yoki and Cecilia's return is still to come.
