Night City still draws a crowd. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, the standalone sequel from CD Projekt Red and Studio TRIGGER, opened at No. 3 on Netflix's global Top 10 chart for non-English series in its debut week, four years after the first season turned David Martinez's story into one of the streamer's most talked-about anime.
The figures come from Netflix Tudum's official Top 10 for the week of October 19–25, which credits the series with 4.6 million views and 21.9 million hours viewed. The season dropped all ten episodes at once on October 20, so the chart captured only its first six days — and viewers binged through the season's roughly four-hour-and-43-minute runtime fast enough to land it behind only Lupin Part 4 (6.4 million views) and Doctor X: Mafia in White (5.8 million) on the non-English chart.
Counting English-language series as well, the debut placed Edgerunners 2 among the six most-watched series on the platform that week. The comparison with the original run cuts both ways: the first season debuted lower, at No. 8 in September 2022, but held a chart spot for four consecutive weeks, while the sequel's all-at-once release burned bright for a single week before dropping out of the Top 10.
The sequel deliberately leaves David and Lucy behind. Edgerunners 2 follows Weak Kingsley, a past-his-prime veteran edgerunner who was once a Night City legend and now lives mostly without the technology that put him on top. A run of unexpected events drags him back into the life he left, and the season closes his story the way the first closed David's — which means any continuation would again start over with a new cast.

Will there be Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 3?
Netflix has not confirmed a third season. History suggests patience either way: the first season premiered in 2022, the sequel was not announced until July 2025, and it arrived more than a year after that. A debut-week audience of this size strengthens the case considerably, and the anthology format means the franchise never has to wait on any one character's story to continue.
