Bloodhounds Season 2 Officially Confirmed by Netflix; Rain Plays a Villain For The First Time

Netflix has officially announced the production and cast of Bloodhounds Season 2, confirming the return of the fan-favorite boxing duo with an exciting twist — a new villain. Woo Do-hwan (Mr. Plankton, The King: Eternal Monarch) and Lee Sang-yi (My Demon, No Gain No Love) would reprise their roles as Kim Geon-woo and Hong Woo-jin, respectively. In a press released on Thursday, the streamer revealed that Bloodhounds Season 2's story will focus on the underground boxing league led by Baek-jeong (Jung Ji-hoon).

A clip of the duo was shared on the Netflix K-Content accounts, reminding fans that the sequel is coming to the platform, though a release date hasn't been announced yet.

What is Bloodhounds Season 2 about?

The the first season of Bloodhounds featured Gun-woo and Woo-jin battling illegal loan sharks, and they were successfully able to dismantle the heinous organization. In, Bloodhounds Season 2, Gun-woo, who embodies the righteous "heart of a boxer" and his brave friend and fellow boxer, Gun-woo, will reunite to take down an illegal boxing league.

Jung Ji-hoon, a singer-turned-actor also known as Rain, will be taking on a villain role for the first time in his 20-year acting career. His character, Baek-jeong, is described to be a figure in an illegal boxing league and the main antagonist of Bloodhounds Season 2. He is said to use his power and any means necessary to lure Gun-woo and Woo-jin into the world of underground boxing.

Based on the Naver Webtoon of the same title by Jeong Chan, Bloodhounds Season 1 ranked in Netflix's Top 10 across 83 countries following its release in June 2023. Fans from all over the world enjoyed watching Gun-woo and Woo-jin's teamwork and spirit as they fought against criminals.

The official English version of the Bloodhounds webtoon is available on WEBTOON ENTERTAINMENT. Studio N, a subsidiary of Naver Webtoon, was involved in the production. Kim Joo-hwan is confirmed to direct and write Bloodhounds Season 2.
