Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Avengers: Doomsday on Friday at D23 in Anaheim, giving conventiongoers an extended glimpse of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom dominating the screen opposite the Fantastic Four, mutants and classic Avengers.
The two-minute trailer opens with Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm/Invisible Woman cautioning a gathering of Earth’s mightiest heroes about the growing threat posed by the Latverian ruler. Cuts throughout emphasize the intricate design of Doctor Doom’s armored costume as the warning unfolds.
“I knew he was lost,” Storm states. “But I did not realize that he was broken.”
The footage then shifts to Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal) facing Doctor Doom across a landscape of shattered debris. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) steps forward and vows that Doom “will be begging for hell long before I grant it.”
Doom intercepts the swing of Stormbreaker before the blow can land, countering with a surge of green energy that drives the Asgardian back. He summons a force of Sentinels, the classic robotic antagonists long associated with the X-Men, and delivers his reply: “Hell answers to me, for I am Doom.”

The trailer largely echoes material previously shared during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con. It underscores the scale of the alliance forming against Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.), who marks the actor’s return to the MCU following the events of Avengers: Endgame. Heroes drawn from multiple corners of the universe are shown preparing for the battle.
Avengers: Doomsday brings together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts in a unified front. Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers/Captain America after stepping away from the role, while Chris Hemsworth reprises Thor. Paul Rudd appears as Ant-Man, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. These familiar faces expand the roster of protectors answering the call.
The Fantastic Four lineup features Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing. From the Thunderbolts, Florence Pugh returns as Yelena Belova, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. Their inclusion highlights the film’s emphasis on unconventional teams standing alongside more traditional heroes.
Several performers from earlier X-Men films make their official MCU debuts in Avengers: Doomsday. Patrick Stewart appears as Professor Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler and Channing Tatum as Gambit. Their presence signals a significant expansion of the mutant roster within the larger cinematic universe.
Anthony and Joe Russo are directing Avengers: Doomsday, which lands in theaters on December 18, 2026, as the Russo brothers return to helm another massive MCU crossover.
