There have been undying rumors about Elizabeth Olsen’s return to the MCU since the Scarlet Witch died in Sam Raimi’s 2022 film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. There are claims she’s about to join the cast of the upcoming WandaVision spin-off Vision Quest, given Wanda Maximoff’s close connection to the titular character. Although it remains to be seen if this will happen, Elizabeth Olsen is open to happily returning as the Scarlet Witch.

In an interview with FM 104 (via Elizabeth Olsen Updates YouTube channel) to promote her new movie, His Three Daughters, Olsen answered the question about her possible return to the MCU to reprise her role as the Scarlet Witch. While she hasn’t closed her doors, she wants her character to be "used well" after having a good starting storyline when she started.

“It's a character I love going back to when there's a way to use her well, and I think I've been lucky when I started I was used well,” she said. “And they kind of didn't know what to do with me for a second there! If there's a good way to use her, I'm always happy to come back.”

The Scarlet Witch seemed to die at the end of Doctor Strange 2 when a flash of red appeared after the mountain collapsed when she brought down the Darkhold Castle atop Mount Wundagore. While her death was widely debated, the trailer for its spin-off Agatha All Along confirmed her demise after showing a lifeless body complete with a name tag that read Wanda Maximoff.

How can Scarlet Witch return to the MCU?

Deadline revealed Wanda Maximoff might appear in the new Vision series, claiming that it would only make sense given how “interconnected the two characters’ stories” were in the MCU. However, as of this writing, Marvel Studios has yet to announce if Scarlet Witch will return to the franchise and if it will happen in Vision Quest.

There’s no denying that the studio has a couple of upcoming series that can set the stage for Wanda’s return. One is Agatha All Along, where the Scarlet Witch may be resurrected after she died in Doctor Strange 2. If this happens, she may also show up later in Vision Quest due to her connections with the two shows’ lead characters.

With the importance of her character and one of the beloved heroes in the MCU, it will be a big surprise if the Scarlet Witch does not appear in either Agatha All Along or Vision Quest. As The Multiverse Saga is about to end, it will be nice if fans see her again in any capacity before the reported soft reboot of the MCU after Avengers: Secret Wars.
