Marvel Studios may be busy promoting its new Disney+ series, Agatha All Along, but several other TV shows are in the pipeline. In addition to Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart, it’s also working on a new show based on White Vision, tentatively titled Vision Quest. As a spin-off and sequel to the 2021 series WandaVision, producer Mary Livanos teases Vision Quest’s connection to its parent show.
In an interview with ComicBook, Livanos was asked about her next Marvel Studios project after working on Agatha All Along. She revealed that she would be working on Vision Quest, which was confirmed to be in development in October 2022, with Paul Bettany returning to reprise his role as the title character. She also teased that the series would pick up after the events of WandaVision.
“Well, I can say that, and I think this has been... I'm looking around for confirmation. I think it's been announced that Vision Quest is in development,” she said. “So I'll be lucky and thrilled to be back on that. Very early days, though. But we'll pick up after the events of WandaVision as well.”
For context, WandaVision ended with White Vision gaining the memories of the original Vision after Hex Vision pressed the control on his forehead. This gave him access to his past experiences as an Avenger and his love for Wanda Maximoff. He then declared he was Vision and flew out of Westview, seemingly preparing his own path as a hero.
Will Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch return to Vision Quest?
With Vision’s connection to Wanda, there are undying questions about Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch returning in Vision Quest. Wanda’s fate has been one of the biggest mysteries in the MCU. Although the Agatha All Along trailer seemingly confirmed her death after she "died" in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, dead characters don’t always remain dead in superhero stories, and she may make a triumphant return in Vision Quest.
According to Deadline, Wanda may appear in the new series. Although Disney and Marvel Studios have remained mum about it, the publication noted that Olsen’s return would make sense, given her connection to the main character. It's also worth noting that James Spader is set to reprise his role as Ultron after voicing the character in Joss Whedon’s 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, his role in Vision Quest may not be limited to voice work.
There are theories that Wanda may be resurrected in Agatha All Along. Since Vision Quest won’t be out until 2026, Agatha All Along might set up her potential roles in future Marvel projects. However, only time will tell if this will happen. Fans will have to wait and see what’s in store for this new series.
Agatha All Along is set to release on September 18 on Disney+.
