Following a major stage reveal at AnimeJapan 2026, the Tougen Anki anime has locked in an October 2026 premiere for its intensely awaited Nikko Kegon Falls Arc. The sequel will pick up directly after the brutal confrontations of the first season, thrusting Shiki Ichinose and his fellow Oni students into a demanding new phase of training and conflict at Rasetsu Academy, set against the powerful natural backdrop of Nikko Kegon Falls.

This new arc promises to deepen the story's exploration of the ongoing war between the Oni and the descendants of Momotaro, shifting focus toward specialized training and new challenges at Rasetsu Academy. The announcement, made during AnimeJapan 2026, highlights the production team's commitment to expanding the dark, action-packed world established in the initial run, which aired from July to December 2025 and was produced by Studio Hibari under director Ato Nonaka.

The two new voice cast members of Tougen Anki anime are:

  • Nobuhiko Okamoto as Hagure Nekosaki

  • Kent Ito as Yu Innami

The core cast from the first season returns, including Kazuki Ura as Shiki Ichinose, Hiroshi Kamiya as Naito Mudano, and others such as Koutarou Nishiyama as Jin Kougasaki and Manaka Iwami as Homare Byobugaura. These returning voices ensure continuity as the narrative progresses into the Nikko Kegon Falls setting, where new alliances and rivalries are expected to emerge amid high-stakes battles and power development.

What is Tougen Anki about?

Tougen Anki, also known as Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood, is a shonen manga series written and illustrated by Yura Urushibara. It began serialization in Akita Shoten's Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in June 2020 and has since released over 28 tankobon volumes. The story blends supernatural action, revenge themes, and coming-of-age elements within a modern world infused with ancient mythological conflicts between Oni and Momotaro lineages. Yen Press handles the English publication of the manga. Here's Crunchyroll's story description of the series:

In a world where the Oni and Momotaro have been locked in conflict for generations, Shiki Ichinose is just a regular high school dropout. That changes when a mysterious man attacks him and his father, and Shiki discovers that he is an Oni. Now dragged into a dark and bloody secret war, Shiki must master his powers in order to exact his revenge.

As the Nikko Kegon Falls Arc approaches, fans can look forward to elevated animation sequences, particularly in training montages and combat scenarios set against the scenic yet ominous backdrop of the falls. The arc builds directly on the events of the first season's finale, introducing instructors who will likely play pivotal roles in honing the abilities of the young Oni fighters. Production details suggest a continuation of the stylish visual flair and fluid action choreography that defined the debut season.
