Star Wars Theory Suggests Major Admiral Thrawn Revelation in Ahsoka

Grand Admiral Thrawn's return in Ahsoka might not be what it seems

If there's one thing we learned from watching the trailers and first two episodes of Ahsoka, it would be the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn. We already know that the new Star Wars series is all about the search for the former Imperial officer and, by extension, the young Jedi Ezra Bridger. But is it possible that we won't be seeing Thrawn anytime soon? A new fan theory suggests that viewers are in for a major misdirect as everyone continues to look for the villain.

In the two-part Ahsoka premiere, it was established that there is a way to find Grand Admiral Thrawn and it's all in a little star map. Although Ahsoka Tano finds and tries to decipher it with the help of Sabine Wren, the star map is ultimately stolen by Shin Hati and brought to Morgan Elsbeth. At one point, it sounds like Thrawn is calling out to Morgan, or so she thinks.

But is it truly Thrawn reaching out to Morgan? A Reddit theory suggests that there's something out there, possibly even more sinister than the villain. According to the Redditor's post, there is a huge possibility that Morgan is hearing the call of a different entity that has "unknown ulterior motives, possibly including access to the Star Wars galaxy from the other end."

It's a far-fetched idea but not exactly the most shocking one we've read so far. After all, anything can happen in the Star Wars Universe, like Jar Jar Binks becoming a politician (some of us are still not over that). With that in mind, it's best to take this theory with a grain of salt.

In the meantime, it has already been confirmed that Grand Admiral Thrawn will make his live-action debut in Ahsoka. Lars Mikkelsen, who provided the voice of the character in Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, will portray the villain in the Disney+ series. The only question now is, when will Thrawn make his live-action debut? Perhaps it will be in the third episode, which is set to premiere on August 29, 2023.
