Ahsoka is still streaming on Disney+ right now but we already know which Star Wars show will immediately follow once the Rosario Dawson series has concluded. Unfortunately, it won't be the highly anticipated Skeleton Crew which was originally believed to premiere before the end of 2023. But why have Lucasfilm and Disney chosen to delay the Jude Law show? Interestingly, it might have something to do with scheduling.
It was previously confirmed that Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures has been renewed for a second season and that the animated series will be back on November 8. That's only a month after Ahsoka Episode 8 is expected to air on October 3. This would mean that Young Jedi Adventures Season 2 will be the next Star Wars show on Disney+.

So what happened to Star Wars: Skeleton Crew? There is a huge possibility that it is now one of the many projects affected by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG-AFTRA) strikes (via The Direct). Although filming on the series was completed in January this year, it is believed that the young actors who worked on the project will not be able to promote the show until the strikes are over.
That's not the only reason why Skeleton Crew might be delayed until the end of the year. Lucasfilm and Disney have been wary of the so-called "Star Wars fatigue" and may be putting bigger gaps between live-action shows on the streaming service. Still, we're hoping that the new series will be released by December this year.
What is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew about?
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will feature Jude Law as a mysterious Jedi who encounters a band of kids who end up on an adventure. The series has been described as "Goonies in Star Wars" and this is proven by the young cast working with Law. Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White will play the new Star Wars characters who will be introduced in the show.
For now, Skeleton Crew has not yet been given an official release date. However, fans are hoping that an announcement will be made soon and that the show will premiere on Disney+ later this year.
