Lucasfilm has finally released major details about its new Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew. But long before it gives a first look at its main cast, a merch mistakenly featured the group’s image in an ingot that FaNaTtik later took down from its website for being a huge spoiler. By the looks of it, the same thing happens again after LEGO gives the best look at the series’ new starship before the studio does.
On Thursday, August 1, LEGO made its newest Star Wars set called The Onyx Cinder, which was inspired by the Skeleton Crew starship, available. The cargo freighter buildable toy has rotating engines for landing/takeoff or flight, two stud shooters, two rotating turrets, and a grabbing claw.
Of course, serving as the crew’s starship, it has five seats for the main characters, Jod, who’s in the cockpit, Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel, and whose minifigures are included in the set. It also has storage for the four buildable flashlights and other cargo, a kitchen table, a bed, and other accessories, like fruits and a walkie-talkie. The 1,325-piece set is priced at $139.99.
The recently released preview stills for the show mostly centered on Jude Law’s character as Jod Na Nawood and his young crew Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers), KB (Kyrianna Kratter), Neel (Robert Timothy Smith), and Fern (Ryan Kiera). Though it gives a glimpse of the insides of their starship, this new LEGO is the best look fans can get in its entirety.

Skeleton Crew to Feature a Lot of Star Wars Easter Eggs
The Acolyte may have ended, but it’s not the only Star Wars series Lucasfilm will release this year. Law is set to take the lead in Skeleton Crew alongside a group of young kids as they go on an adventure in the galaxy far, far away. So, with its connection to the bigger Star Wars canon, Law teased in an interview with People that the upcoming Star Wars series would feature a lot of Easter eggs.
“If you look carefully, [we] got some Star Wars tech that dates right back, I believe, to the original film,” he said. “They do [Easter eggs] so well. That's one of the joys I think of this universe for those who know there are these little details always hidden away or Easter eggs that people can find and link up.”
Showrunner Jon Watts said the same thing, teasing that the very first episode would feature great references that fans could easily recognize. But new fans who plan to watch the show don’t have to worry. The series creator assured that they could enjoy the show despite not knowing everything about the franchise.
“You don't have to know everything about Star Wars to enjoy the show,” he explained. “You can come into it completely fresh and enjoy the story. But if you do happen to be a Star Wars super fan, there's a lot for you.”

What is Star Wars: Skeleton Crew about?
Lucasfilm has also released the official synopsis for Skeleton Crew. Set five years after Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, the coming-of-age series will feature four kids who will find themselves lost on a strange and dangerous planet after a mysterious discovery on their home planet. As they find their way home, they will meet unlikely allies and enemies who will send them on an epic adventure that they have never experienced before.
You can read the Skeleton Crew synopsis below:
In addition to Law and the kids mentioned above, the series will also star Nick Frost, who will voice the droid SM-33. Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Jaleel White will join the series, though their roles are yet to be revealed.
Lucasfilm is now reverting to George Lucas’ original aim for Star Wars. The franchise's original creator made Star Wars for kids, and it looks like Skeleton Crew is now leaning hard toward that theme. With four kids in the lead, it will now make an appeal to young viewers, breaking the franchise’s current approach to attract adult fans.
Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set to be released on Disney+ on December 3.
