The Star Wars universe continues to captivate audiences on Disney+, with Ahsoka emerging as a standout series since its debut on August 22, 2023. Led by Rosario Dawson’s portrayal of the iconic Jedi Ahsoka Tano, the show has garnered acclaim for its ties to Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian, expanding the franchise’s lore with thrilling narratives and beloved characters. As anticipation builds for its highly awaited second season, one Ahsoka Season 2 star has revealed exciting details about the dynamic between two key antagonists in the upcoming episodes.

According to an exclusive interview with The Direct, actress Ivanna Sakhno, who plays Shin Hati, confirmed that her character will share numerous scenes with Rory McCann’s Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka Season 2. Sakhno, speaking while promoting the digital release of M3GAN 2.0, offered insight into the ongoing production, saying, “We're in the middle of filming right now. I'm reporting to you from London, so I, you know, I get to see Rory nearly daily at the moment, and he has been amazing to work with. I will have his work speak for itself, but he is definitely a gift for us to have. And there couldn't have been anyone better to take on this role.”

McCann steps into the role of Baylan Skoll, previously portrayed by Ray Stevenson, who tragically passed away in May 2023. Rather than retiring the character, Lucasfilm chose to recast the enigmatic Force-wielder, ensuring the continuation of his compelling arc. Sakhno’s comments suggest that Ahsoka Season 2 will heavily feature the interplay between Shin and Baylan, building on their complex master-apprentice relationship established in Season 1.

In the climactic finale of Ahsoka Season 1, Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati found themselves stranded on the uncharted planet of Peridea, located in a separate galaxy. Their pursuit of Ahsoka Tano and her allies led to a fracture in their partnership, as Baylan, driven by a mysterious quest for greater power, left Shin behind during a critical confrontation. Defeated in battle and wounded, Shin was last seen alone on Peridea’s haunting terrain, while Baylan stood atop massive statues tied to the Mortis gods, hinting at a deeper connection to the Force’s origins. Meanwhile, Ahsoka and Sabine Wren were also left marooned on Peridea, as Grand Admiral Thrawn escaped to the primary Star Wars galaxy.

What to Expect in Ahsoka Season 2

With production underway in London, Ahsoka Season 2 is set to explore the mysteries of Peridea, with Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll likely at the forefront. Sakhno’s revelation about their shared screen time points to a renewed focus on their dynamic, potentially addressing Shin’s feelings of abandonment and their joint pursuit of Peridea’s secrets. Speculation suggests the planet may be linked to Mortis, the mythical realm from Star Wars: The Clone Wars tied to the Force’s origins, which could elevate the stakes of Baylan’s ambitions.

The season will reunite key cast members, including Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, and Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn. Under the creative direction of Dave Filoni, the series will likely balance dual narratives: Ahsoka and Sabine’s struggle to escape Peridea and the New Republic’s battle against Thrawn’s resurgent forces in the main galaxy. The interplay of action, mysticism, and character-driven storytelling promises to deepen the Star Wars saga.
