The trailer and promotional image for My Name is Loh Kiwan suggest that the film will receive a mature rating, making it unsuitable for younger audience.
What is My Name is Loh Kiwan about?
Song Joong-ki portrays Loh Kiwan, a North Korean defector striving to be acknowledged as a 'refugee' in Belgium, a foreign place where he arrived with nothing because of his mother Ok-Hee (Kim Sung-Ryoung). Kiwan fights to get that recognition, and he meets Mari (Choi Sung-eun), who used to be a Korean, but she acquired Belgian citizenship. She was a shooter back then, but unlike Loh Ki-wan, who arrived in Belgium to live a new life, Mari doesn't have a reason to live. Their first encounter is unpleasant, but they fall in love with each other.
"With my last shreds of hope, I have decided to survive in this land," the caption on the trailer for My Name is Loh Kiwan reads.
