Jang Na-ra and Kim Hye-yoon's Good Partner 2 Gives First Look at Cha Eun-kyung at the Head of REBOM

Cha Eun-kyung returns with a firm of her own in Good Partner 2, and Jang Na-ra says the lawyer underneath the title has changed in one key way.

Cha Eun-kyung is no longer working for someone else in the first character stills from Good Partner 2, and the change suits her. Three years on from where viewers last saw her, she is running her own divorce law firm, with a managing partner nameplate, a courtroom schedule and a new partner waiting to test her.

On October 26, SBS Entertainment News unveiled the stills ahead of the new season, showing Cha Eun-kyung's return for the first time in two years. The images present a lawyer who looks more settled than she did in Season 1, without losing the sharp focus that made the character a hit in the first place.

In the new stills, Cha Eun-kyung has become the managing partner of Law Firm REBOM, a divorce specialty practice she built into a firm of 50 people in just three years. She has also been named "Power Woman of the Year," and one still captures her relaxed, elegant smile as she takes in what she has built.

Another still tells a different part of the same story, with Cha Eun-kyung seated in front of her "Managing Partner" nameplate, preparing to argue a case. A further image catches her delivering arguments in court with a sharp gaze, underlining that the title has not softened her as a workaholic veteran attorney.

Good Partner 2 is a divorce drama about Cha Eun-kyung, a managing partner for whom divorce is second nature, and Kang Hye-seong, an experienced attorney played by Kim Hye-yoon who is deeply sincere about divorce. The season follows the two lawyers as they become each other's "good partners," pairing Cha Eun-kyung's cold judgment with Kang Hye-seong's relentless tenacity.

Jang Na-ra on Returning to the Same Character

Jang Na-ra shared her thoughts on coming back, saying, "I was grateful to have the opportunity to participate in a drama that is getting a second season. Meeting viewers again as the same character was a truly unique experience. The character of Cha Eun-kyung itself had many adventurous sides, so playing her again also made me feel cautious."

That caution shaped how she approached the new season, particularly as Cha Eun-kyung's priorities have shifted since founding her own firm. Jang Na-ra pointed to a deeper connection with clients as the heart of that change, rather than a simple promotion in title.

Highlighting "empathy" as the biggest change in Cha Eun-kyung, Jang Na-ra added, "After founding Law Firm Rebom, it seems there are more aspects where she connects and empathizes with clients' heartfelt stories. 'Rebom' itself seems to represent Cha Eun-kyung. I tried my best to shed the pressure and ambition from the previous season. I also tried to approach the role with an easy mind so that viewers could watch comfortably."

A New Partner and a New Rival for Good Partner Season 2

Kang Hye-seong arrives as Cha Eun-kyung's new partner after building her reputation across debt collection, civil and criminal cases, never missing even a small clue. Her partnership with Cha Eun-kyung is set to bring a different chemistry from Season 1, when Cha Eun-kyung worked alongside rookie lawyer Han Yu-ri.

The wider cast around them includes P.O as Jeon Eun-ho, the attorney who moves to REBOM with Cha Eun-kyung and smooths out her blunt way of speaking. Park Hae-jin joins as Park Tae-soo, the managing attorney of Taesoo Law Firm and Cha Eun-kyung's former university classmate, setting up a direct rivalry at the top of the divorce field.

The season is written by Choi Yu-na, a divorce specialist attorney who also wrote Season 1, and directed by Seo Min-jeong. Beyond the individual cases, the story follows attorneys and clients choosing the best among second-best options at life's crossroads, with life after divorce given as much weight as the verdict itself.
