If there's one thing that people couldn't stop talking about in the Secret Invasion finale, it would be the epic showdown between the two Super Skrulls. However, the super-powered battle between G'iah and Gravik wasn't something that director Ali Selim had planned in the first place. Instead, he credits Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige for coming up with the idea.
In Secret Invasion Episode 6, Nick Fury finally delivered the Harvest to Gravik in an effort to convince him to leave Earth and find another planet to conquer. The infuriated Skrull refuses and uses the collection of superpowered DNA from the Battle of Earth to gain access to their powers. However, it is later revealed that G'iah had pretended to be Fury and now has gained similar powers as Gravik.
It was an interesting fight as both Super Skrulls used their newly acquired powers from the likes of Mantis, Drax, and Captain Marvel. What's even more interesting about it is that Ali Selim confirms it was all Kevin Feige's idea.
"It starts with Kevin Feige, who says ‘We’re gonna have a Super Skrull fight and all superpowers are fair game,'" Selim told Deadline. He then explained that what he needed to figure out was how to display each power during the battle.
"It’s also just a little bit of choreography and visual elegance or beauty, just making it work. There were some transitions from a superpower to another superpower that made sense in story that just didn’t look good. So we shifted the story to accommodate the choreography," Selim concluded.
It was certainly a fight for the ages as the two Super Skrulls got creative with their new powers. However, it was still not enough to save Secret Invasion from being the lowest-rated Marvel show on Disney+.

Although the Secret Invasion finale had its entertaining highlights (like Olivia Colman just being awesome as Sonya Falsworth), viewers were not impressed with the rushed storyline and President Ritson's controversial decision to wage war on a homeless alien species. Still, there might be one good thing that could come from the show: Selim himself expressed his interest in seeing what the future holds for G'iah and Falsworth after their new alliance.
All six episodes of Secret Invasion are now streaming on Disney+.
