Disney+ has released new stills from the second season of Made in Korea that feature Roh Jae-won and Jung Sung-il in their returning roles. The images offer a clear look at the characters’ transformed appearances and the elevated status each has secured. They also hint at the sharper conflicts and calculated moves that will define the story ahead in Made in Korea 2.
The first season of Made in Korea followed Baek Ki-tae (Hyun-bin), a man whose fierce ambition for wealth and power drove him through the upheavals of the turbulent 1970s. Opposite him stood prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), who sacrificed everything in his determined effort to stop Baek Ki-tae as the pair confronted a monumental event that altered the course of their lives.
Made in Korea 2 is set nine years after the Season 1 finale and finds Baek Ki-tae standing at the absolute peak of his power. The story also tracks Jang Geon-young as he prepares a long-planned counterattack and follows Baek Ki-hyun (Woo Do-hwan), who pursues an entirely different path to influence from the one taken by his older brother. Their colliding ambitions spiral out of control, shaking the existing order and creating an irreversible rift among those once bound by shared goals.
Roh Jae-won plays Pyo Hak-soo, Baek Ki-tae’s former classmate from the Agency for National Security Planning whose trajectory has shifted dramatically. In Season 2, Pyo Hak-soo has risen to become the director of the agency’s Busan branch, a promotion that demonstrates his expanded reach and hardened authority. The newly released stills show him carefully adjusting a wig in front of a mirror in one frame while another captures him locked in an intense battle of wits during a tense phone call.
Jung Sung-il returns as Chun Seok-jung, who has held onto his place as the second-most powerful figure beside the VIP at the top of the political hierarchy. In the first season he was someone Baek Ki-tae looked up to, yet nine years later Chun Seok-jung has climbed to an even more commanding position. His coming confrontation with members of the newly formed Joint Investigation Headquarters is expected to raise the stakes further as the power dynamics surrounding Baek Ki-tae continue to change.
Made in Korea 2 consists of six episodes in total and will premiere with the first two installments on September 9. Two new episodes will then arrive every Wednesday afterward. The series streams on Disney+/Hulu as this Disney+ original continues its examination of ambition, shifting alliances, and the high cost of power.
