The arrival of Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most pivotal shifts in the franchise as the actor brought Iron Man to life which became an ultimate fan-favorite among the audience. From Iron Man to his last appearance in Avengers: Endgame, the actor literally embodied being Tony Stark from the start until the end that the hero will always be attached to his name. Surprisingly, when asked about what the best Marvel movie is for him, Robert Downey Jr. chose one that does not involve his character at all.
Robert Downey Jr. is one of the original Avengers that the whole world followed through the first three phases of the MCU, and his Iron Man is, undoubtedly, one of the most favorites of the audience. In fact, it was Robert Downey Jr. who kickstarted the success of the MCU in the 2008 Iron Man. With such, one would expect that such would be the actor's top pick as the best MCU movie but MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios reveals otherwise. Here's the best Marvel movie for Robert Downey Jr.:
In the same book, Robert Downey Jr. is not the only one who picked Guardians of the Galaxy as the best Marvel movie. Hulk actor Mark Ruffalo also chose the same movie as the best one in the MCU, Ruffalo said, "Guardians of the Galaxy opened up another door in the Marvel Universe. It could go into space, it could be funny, it could be colorful, it has a style that's totally disconnected from the rest of the Marvel Universe."

There are a lot of rumors going around regarding the original Avengers meeting again in the MCU but that would mean the return of Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man who already died the most poetic heroes' death in the MCU after he snapped Thanos and his cronies away from existence in Endgame. This, however, has been countered by Marvel's big boss, Kevin Feige, who spoke to Vanity Fair as regards the possibility of Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Iron Man in the MCU. Feige said, "We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again."
The moment that Feige referred to is the same one mentioned above where Iron Man sacrificed himself to obliterate the forces of Thanos and his death remains etched in the hearts and minds of every MCU fan. With such a powerful moment to end the journey of a hero like Iron Man who had became a pillar to the MCU, it would be best to leave it as it is, just how the audience loved it the first time they witnessed the scene.
All the MCU projects are available to stream on Disney Plus.
