Nobody can detail Netflix’s upcoming epic space opera movie Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire like its director, Zack Snyder. So, as part of the streamer’s Geeked Week virtual event, the filmmaker has broken down the much-awaited movie’s new trailer and added behind-the-scenes information from the set building to fight choreography. And just like an excited child, the filmmaker shows his enthusiasm for this new project. Watch the new trailer for the first Rebel Moon movie below:
The preview begins with Snyder introducing himself, followed by a scene of Kora standing from the ground after smelling a handful of soil. The 57-year-old then begins to tell the story of the film, centering on Kora, a farmer and a seasoned warrior who has a mysterious past living on Veldt and connecting to the Earth.
As the trailer shows battle spacecraft, Snyder likens Rebel Moon to David and Goliath, describing it as a small farming community where a warship will arrive to take their food to feed their soldiers. He then talks about the film’s set, revealing they have built the town in the movie for four months and even planted real wheat.
As the warship lands, Kora believes it wants everything from them. Snyder then introduces Admiral Noble, a brutal army leader who’s on a mission to find the rebel insurgents, and Gunnar, a farmer who wants to protect the village of Veldt. Despite the dangers it brings, the community's people have no idea that the Motherworld soldiers' arrival means chaos.
From there, the action begins. Kora fights the soldiers on her own after attacking a girl. Snyder proudly says that Sofia Boutella does her fighting scenes on her own without a body double after learning the fight choreography. As Kora has effortlessly defeated the enemies, she tells the villagers they have to fight.

What is Rebel Moon about?
Rebel Moon follows the story of Kora, a lone-wolf soldier who has found the community of Veldt and her connection there. She’s now living a new life after formerly fighting for the Imperium, an interstellar royal empire that wants to control the whole galaxy. However, she’s about to unleash her violent side when the sadistic admiral Atticus Noble arrives on Veldt aboard his Dreadnought-class battle cruiser and ignites a war following the order of the Imperium’s authoritarian advisor, Balisarius.
