Ahsoka is one of the most highly anticipated Star Wars shows of the year but are you properly prepared for the upcoming Mandalorian spin-off? Ashley Eckstein says that the best way to get ready for the new series is to take the deep dive into the animated shows that introduced Ahsoka Tano in the first place.

Ahsoka Tano was first introduced in the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and became a supporting character in the series of the same title. Voiced by Ashley Eckstein, the young Jedi became Anakin Skywalker's Padawan who eventually steps out of his shadow and becomes an important character in Star Wars Rebels and Tales of the Jedi.

Because of her extensive appearances in the animated shows, we already know a lot about Ahsoka's backstory before she made her live-action debut in The Mandalorian. But if you missed out on The Clone Wars and Rebels, Ashley Eckstein told Cinemablend that now would be the best time to catch up.

"I actually recommend to everyone who is excited about the upcoming Ahsoka series, I highly recommend that you take the time to watch Clone Wars, and watch Star Wars Rebels, and even Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi," said. "Because if you don't, you're going to miss out on crucial, crucial backstory that you really need to know to fully enjoy the Ahsoka series, which is so exciting."

That's right, everything you need to know about Ahsoka is in these animated shows. You'll get to see her as a baby (in Tales of the Jedi), as Snips (in The Clone Wars) and as a member of the Rebel Alliance (in Rebels). Plus, you'll get to learn why she is so determined to track down Grand Admiral Thrawn, so much so that she refused to train Grogu in The Mandalorian. And make sure to watch her epic duel against her former Master, who is rumored to make an appearance in Ahsoka next month.

Rosario Dawson will return as the titular Jedi in Ahsoka, which will premiere on Disney+ on August 23, 2023.
