Netflix released the live-action adaptation of One Piece this year and it remains to be the only one to have broken the anime adaptation curse that it becomes the exception, not the general rule. Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat crew were given a new breath of life in the live-action Netflix series and it immediately got the interest of the audience. As the series has been renewed for a second season, One Piece is reportedly looking for the next major casting of the series which are rumored to be for Ace and Nico Robin.
One Piece is abundant in characters and recently, its live-action adaptation scored a huge success on Netflix. With the plan for the expansion of One Piece with Season 2 underway, two additional characters are reportedly being cast by Netflix with Ace and Nico Robin. On Reddit, rumors are circulating around Arthur Falko and Erin Maloney to be eyeing for the roles of Ace and Nico Robin respectively.
The post claims that both actors were followed by Steven Maeda and Matt Owens, showrunners of One Piece, which is quite telling that the actors were possibly involved in the upcoming Season 2 of One Piece. Arthur Falko may need some makeover but he could definitely pull off the rugged look of Ace, and as per Erin Maloney, she resembles Nico Robin so much that it would be a waste not to cast her for the role. Still, there remains no confirmation yet on these major castings.
Who are the new characters in Netflix's One Piece Season 2?
One Piece mainstays are expected to return with Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Taz Skylar as Sanji, Jacob Gibson as Usopp, and Peter Gadiot as Shanks. The sixth member of the Straw Hat crew will be Chopper. One of the most awaited characters to arrive in Season 2 is Marine vice admiral Smoker but the actor playing the same is yet to be revealed. Aside from Smoker, Nico Robin will reportedly be played by Erin Maloney, and Arthur Falko is rumored to star as Ace.
One Piece Season 2 is expected to bring Loguetown arc to the small screens on Netflix. Smoker is the anticipated antagonist in the upcoming season. One Piece Season 2 is yet to commence filming.
One Piece Season 2 has no release date yet. Season 1 episodes are all available to stream on Netflix.
