One Piece is bringing its next movie into the spotlight at Jump Festa 2027. A new tease has revealed that the franchise's presentation at Shueisha's annual event will share fresh updates on One Piece Film God Valley, the next theatrical entry in the series, alongside news on the remake anime in the works for Netflix.
The tease appears in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, as spotted by @WSJ_manga on X. The magazine preview confirms that One Piece's Jump Festa stage will deliver new information on both One Piece Film God Valley and The One Piece, the full remake of the TV anime, giving fans two major projects to watch for at the event.
One Piece Film God Valley is a landmark entry for the franchise in one specific way: it is teased as the first One Piece film in history to adapt canonical material from Eiichiro Oda's original manga. The movie takes on the God Valley flashback first seen during the Elbaph Arc, rather than telling a standalone story like the films before it, and no staff, cast or international release details have been confirmed yet. That makes the Jump Festa presentation the first real window into how the film will handle one of the most talked-about stretches of the manga's recent years.
The flashback itself carries enormous weight in the series' lore. The God Valley Incident is the legendary clash where Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp joined forces against the Rocks Pirates, and the manga only revealed the full account during the Elbaph Arc after decades of fragments and secondhand mentions.
Putting that story in a theatrical film raises an obvious question about how it will sit alongside the TV anime's own telling of the Elbaph material. Whether the anime will still adapt the flashback in full, or whether the movie becomes required viewing, is one of the biggest things fans are hoping the Jump Festa stage addresses.
The remake half of the tease is just as notable. The One Piece, produced by WIT Studio for Netflix, retells the story from the East Blue Saga with modern production, and it has shown very little footage in motion so far. Its Jump Festa update is expected to offer a clearer look at the reimagined series.
The announcements land in a busy stretch for the franchise. The TV anime now produces 26 episodes a year instead of running weekly all year, the Elbaph Arc returns for its second season next year, and the live-action series is also set to return for its third season.
Jump Festa 2027 takes place on December 19 and 20, and One Piece Film God Valley is scheduled to open in theaters across Japan next year. The One Piece remake is in production for Netflix, though neither project has a specific premiere date yet.
