All eyes are now on the much-awaited battle between Tomura Shigaraki and Star and Stripe in My Hero Academia Season 7. The four-episode My Hero Academia: Memories had already previewed how epic their fight could be. But aside from the showdown of powers, the anime’s Shigaraki voice actor, Koki Uchiyama, reveals the clash will also be the first test of the villain’s true power after his body transfiguration.

In an interview with Animate Times, Uchiyama teased that the confrontation between Shigaraki and Star and Stripe would be one of the biggest highlights of My Hero Academia Season 7. As the US’s No. 1 Pro Hero, who possesses incredible powers and abilities, Shigaraki would have a hard time fighting against the female hero.

“His ego is still wavering,” he said.

The artist continued that doing this fight scene was “difficult from the beginning” after going full throttle. So, if the original story in Kohei Horikoshi’s manga, on which the anime is based, is already interesting enough, he teased fans should see its animation.

“The original story was really interesting, but when it became an animation, I was surprised and wondered, ‘Is this how it would be drawn?’” he continued. “Visually, the character Stars and Stripes itself is full of highlights, so I hope you look forward to it.”

Hero vs. Villain: Who will win in My Hero Academia Season 7?

In addition, Uchiyama hinted that Shigaraki would unleash “even more power” in My Hero Academia Season 7. Dabi’s voice actor, Hiro Shimono, also claimed that the villains would have the upper hand in the war, though no one knows what would happen in the end.

Uchiyama then agreed, revealing the heroes would be in tatters this time. With Japan in ruins and no countries wanting to send help as they also wanted to protect their nations, Pro Heroes would be left with no options but to fight on their own.

“We are already certain of victory,” Uchiyama added, referring to the villains.

What to Expect from My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 1

My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 1 is expected to pick up where the previous season left off. The Season 6 finale saw Japan in destruction, leaving All Might with no choice but to ask for other countries’ help to send in their heroes. However, several nations refused as they had to keep their forces strong. Thankfully, one hero stood up, Star and Stripe, and she’s about to make her way to Japan to face Shigaraki.

You can read the synopsis below:

All Might put out a request to heroes around the world to be temporarily dispatched to Japan. Ignoring the heads of state who were reluctant to send anyone, one hero boldly took action. America's number one hero, Star and Stripe. America's number one even has a different art style.

The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Kohei Horikoshi. It started its serialization in July 2014 and has collected 40 tankobon volumes. After selling over 100 million copies worldwide, it has become one of the best-selling manga of all time. Its success has also spawned a huge media franchise, having numerous spinoff manga and expanding into light novels, stage plays, and different types of merchandise and media, including video games.

Studio Bones then produced its anime adaptation, with its first season released in April 2016, the second season in April 2017, the third season in April 2018, the fourth season in October 2019, the fifth season in March 2021, and the sixth season in October 2022. It also has three animated movies, nine original video animations (OVA), and an upcoming fourth film, My Hero Academia: You’re Next. A live-action film by Legendary Entertainment is also in the works.
