Eman Esfandi, who stars as Ezra Bridger in the live-action Disney+ series Ahsoka, has opened up about the possibility of starring in a live-action Ezra Bridger Star Wars spinoff series in the future. He is already set to reprise the role in the show’s second season. The comments reflect his continued interest in the character’s story beyond the current series.
In a recent red-carpet interview for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Esfandi spoke with Screen Rant about his openness to further Star Wars projects involving the character. The actor made clear that his commitment to the role remains strong regardless of the specific format any continuation might take.
When the conversation turned to the idea of an Ezra-focused series, Esfandi expressed enthusiastic willingness to keep playing the character under creator Dave Filoni’s guidance. “Anything Dave asks of me playing Ezra, I would more than likely be 150% down. So whether there’s a spinoff or whatever the story continues as, or even if that’s all [there is], I am so honored to be a part of that legacy and so happy to be working with someone who cares to play,” he said, underscoring both his readiness and his gratitude for the opportunity.
Ezra Bridger first appeared in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, where he joined the crew of the Ghost as a teenage Force-sensitive orphan learning the ways of the Jedi under the guidance of Kanan Jarrus. Taylor Gray provided the voice for Ezra throughout the four seasons of Star Wars Rebels as well as in the short-form web series Star Wars Forces of Destiny. Those animated appearances established the core traits and relationships that later carried over into live-action.
Esfandi made his live-action debut as Ezra in the first season of Ahsoka, which arrived on Disney+ in 2023 and continued storylines connected to the broader Star Wars timeline. The series marked a significant transition for the character from animation into the live-action realm alongside other familiar faces from the franchise.
Before landing the role of Ezra, the actor appeared in films including Red 11, King Richard, and The Inspection. He will next be seen in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, continuing to build a career that spans both independent dramas and major franchise entries across different genres.
The eight-episode second season of Ahsoka does not yet have an exact Disney+ premiere date. It is currently expected to arrive in early 2027, giving audiences more time with Esfandi’s portrayal of Ezra Bridger and the ongoing storylines surrounding him.
