After over a week, My Hero Academia Season 7 will finally premiere. The series’ final phase is about to begin as Deku and his fellow Class 1-A heroes prepare for their final fight against All for One. A huge war is about to ensue and the heroes will need every help they can get, including that of the US hero Star and Stripe. As she’s about to join the action, voice actor Koki Uchiyama, who voices Shigaraki, teases an “incredible and exciting fight” featuring the North American crime fighter.

In an interview with CUT Magazine (via X user @shibuyasmash), Uchiyama described Star and Stripe as a “great character.” Daiki Yamashita, the voice behind Deku, agrees, stressing, “She really is.” From there, Uchiyama teased a huge fight at the start of My Hero Academia Season 7 involving Cathleen Bate.

“It’s an incredible and exciting fight, perfect for the start of Season 7,” he said. “I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

Before Star and Stripe enters the scene, the female heroes of the Hero Society have already been taking the fight against the League of Villains, now the Paranormal Liberation Front after Shigaraki merges the group with the Meta Liberation Army, to another level. Uchiyama revealed Mirko had left a strong impression on him after her battles against High-End and Shigaraki in My Hero Academia Season 6.

And by the looks of it, the female heroes’ supremacy will continue in My Hero Academia Season 7, with Star and Stripe in the lead. Uchiyama claimed that he had seen the first part of Cathleen’s battle and described its depiction as “cool.”

“With the animation, you can really feel what an incredible fight it is,” he added. “So, I think it’s definitely worth watching.”

Yamashita continued to tease that it was “amazing,” admitting he couldn’t help but fanboying over Star and Stripe’s great fighting skills. He even revealed that he watched that stunning scene through Deku’s point of view and hinted at an outstanding battle of quirks about to unfold.

Who is Star and Stripe in My Hero Academia Season 7?

Real name Cathleen Bate, Star and Stripe was the No. 1 Pro Hero of the US. All Might saved Cathleen and her sister after being caught in a villain attack when they were young. This made her inspired by the Symbol of Peace, ending up dying her hair blonde and making her own eight tufts. Hence, there are evident similarities between the two.

She then joined the military and became a pro-hero. With her wits, strong will, and powerful quirk, she quickly became America’s No. 1 Pro Hero. However, despite her great abilities, she still felt inferior to All Might for not reaching his level of strength. But with her fellow soldiers' and teammates’ help, she regained her confidence and became a better version of herself and a great asset to the US.

Her quirk, New Order, let her set a rule on her surroundings and bestow new properties on them. This, too, allowed her to manipulate things and set two rules at any given time. Physically, her ultimate moves are Fist Bump to the Earth, Keraunos, and State-of-the-Art Hypersonic Intercontinental Cruise Punch. In addition, her equipment is a Fighter Squadron, several X-66 fighter jets piloted by her close allies, and Tiamat, a series of state-of-the-art hypersonic intercontinental cruise missiles from the US military.

What to Expect from My Hero Academia Season 7

My Hero Academia is expected to continue where the previous season left off. It will adapt the manga’s Star and Strap arc to introduce the US hero of the same name. All Might will ask for the foreign heroes’ help as Shigaraki’s body transfiguration nears completion. However, Star and Stripe will be defeated, with Shigaraki stealing her quirk.

The new season is also expected to adapt the U.A. Traitor arc. An unknown traitor will leak important information to the enemies as Class 1-A prepares for the final fight against All For One, Shigaraki, and the rest of the Paranormal Liberation Front.

You can read the anime’s synopsis below:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered ‘quirk,’ Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.

The anime is based on the manga of the same title by Kohei Horikoshi. It started its serialization in July 2014, collecting 40 tankobon volumes and selling over 100 million copies as of April 2024. With these figures, it’s dubbed as one of the best-selling manga of all time and has spawned a media franchise. It has inspired numerous spin-off manga, light novels, stage plays, and different types of merchandise and media, including video games.

Studio Bones adapted it into anime, with the first season released in April 2016, the second season in April 2017, the third season in April 2018, the fourth season in October 2019, the fifth season in March 2021, and the sixth season in October 2022. It also has three animated films, nine original video animations (OVA), and an upcoming fourth animated movie in August 2024. A live-action film by Legendary Entertainment is also in the works.
