Since the hype around the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to an end, there’s another game cooking at the office of Insomniac Games, and we can’t wait for it to come out. The 2010s were some of the best times for the Marvel Cinematic Universe since their pop culture was at the top in those days. During that time, fans got to experience some strange movie tie-in games, mobile games, and much more.
Batman was the only superhero who was getting some amazing and exciting games. However, it seems like Marvel might be looking to right their wrongs with the popular Spider-Man games, Guardians of the Galaxy games, and a lot of other games that are based on their top heroes. Insomniac Games managed to set themselves apart with their Spider-Man video games and is now working on another Marvel project, i.e., Marvel’s Wolverine.
It was announced in 2021 along with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, but there’s no proper information on the progress of Marvel’s Wolverine. Spider-Man 2 recently came out with some great reviews, so now Insomniac has been trying to move the Spider-Man developers over to Marvel’s Wolverine, but the game has been in production for a long time now. So, we’re once again back at a dead end.
The developers haven’t shared the progress of it, and we have no idea as to what it might have in store for players, but the latest leak might give us some information. A concept artist known as Hung Nguy claimed that they were working on Marvel’s Wolverine, which has been given a release date of 2024. However, we aren’t quite sure about the accuracy and authenticity of this news. It might be some sort of mistake, it might be entirely incorrect, and there’s always the chance of games getting delayed.
What do we know about Marvel's Wolverine?
The game was originally announced back in 2021, but there has been a long silence from the developers ever since. When explaining the project's origins, Insomniac Games' Head of Franchise Strategy & Studio Relations, Ryan Schneider, mentioned that they were stoked at the opportunity to be working on the Wolverine game. He also mentioned that the game would be directed by Brian Horton (creative director) and Cameron Christian (game director), who are also responsible for creating the recent Spider-Man: Miles Morales game.
There isn't much known about the upcoming Insomniac Games project other than that it will be set in the same universe as their Spider-Man games, so there's always a chance for a crossover. However, it’s important to note that these are all purely speculations, and nothing has been officially confirmed yet. While many rumors do point towards a 2024 release window, it hasn’t been confirmed by Insomniac Games.
