The first year of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is fully mapped out. Publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Arc System Works revealed the complete Year 1 DLC lineup following the grand finals at EVO France 2026: Phoenix Cyclops, Thor (Jane Foster), Venom, and Jubilee, arriving on a staggered schedule stretching into summer 2027.

Phoenix Cyclops leads the charge on November 2, 2026. Thor (Jane Foster) follows in winter 2027, Venom arrives in spring 2027 alongside a new Klyntar stage, and Jubilee closes out the year in summer 2027. All four fighters — plus the stage — are bundled in the Year One Characters & Stage Pass, though each can also be purchased individually. The announcement was accompanied by roster artwork from Marvel artist Peach Momoko.

Phoenix Cyclops is the headline act, and Arc System Works is treating him as more than a costume swap. He launches with two outfits — Classic and Legacy — and a gameplay hook built around Solar Shards, charged through his Optic Blasts. Stack four shards and Cyclops enters Dark Phoenix form, temporarily boosting his power while draining his health: a risk-reward system tailor-made for the game's 4v4 tag format, where one bad call can cost you an anchor.

Producer Takeshi Yamanaka explained the choice in a PlayStation Blog post, noting that Cyclops has appeared in so many fighting games over the years that the team wanted a version that felt different. "We felt this interpretation would allow us to create fresher visuals and a more exciting fighting style while offering something unexpected for players," Yamanaka wrote. The Phoenix take draws inspiration from the Avengers vs. X-Men storyline, with Cyclops designed as an all-rounder deadly at both long range and up close.

Jane Foster's Thor got the spotlight in the reveal trailer, shown wielding Mjolnir with what the team describes as the electrifying power of the God of Thunder. Her take follows the acclaimed 2014 Mighty Thor comic run, and she'll arrive with a theme by guest composer Keiichi Okabe, best known for his work on the Nier series. Venom brings the Klyntar stage with him — the artificial planet of the symbiotes — while Jubilee rounds out the pass as the X-Men mainstay's debut in the roster.
