Insomniac Games, the developers behind the popular PS5 game Spider-Man 2, have recently suffered a massive data breach. The company was hacked, and because of this, the hackers have revealed a lot of inside information. This includes information about their future games, ongoing projects such as Marvel’s Wolverine, and much more.
The hacking group Rhysida demanded $2 million from Insomniac Games and gave the company one week to comply. Otherwise, they threatened to leak the 1.7 terabytes of sensitive data that was exposed. This data also consists of Insomniac Games’ timeline of projects, extending till 2035. Unfortunately, Sony didn't comply, and the data eventually leaked.

Among this leaked information, there is also some information about a new online game mode for Spider-Man 2 that could potentially come out in 2024. This leak came quite unexpectedly as fans were hoping to hear about a new Spider-Man 2 DLC. This leak also raises more questions about how Insomniac Games plans to approach an online mode for their Spider-Man games. It, however, does not give us any specific information on the gameplay mechanics of this game mode.
The leak also goes beyond just Spider-Man 2, disclosing online modes for games such as Wolverine and X-Men, which are planned to come out in 2026 and 2028. Other games planned by Insomniac Games include Marvel's Venom (2025), Spider-Man 3 (2028), a new Ratchet & Clank installment (2029), and Marvel's X-Men (2030). Moreover, two more IPs are also planned for release in 2031 and 2035, showing the studio’s long-term plans.
