The Fantastic Four Star Shares The Time He Spent Rehearsing Johnny Storm’s Catchphrase

Joseph Quinn has been giving a lot of his time rehearsing the popular “Flame on!” catchphrase!

The anticipation of The Fantastic Four’s release has been keeping fans busy these days since it is among some of the most eagerly-awaited movies coming to us from Marvel Studios. It’s safe to say that the fans of the franchise are excited to see how the studio shares the story of Marvel’s very first family. The most popular and beloved element that has left a mark on many is the “Flame on!” catchphrase that was often used by Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn).

Although there’s still an entire year left before The Fantastic Four comes out, it looks like we’ll be getting the chance to hear this catchphrase in the upcoming live-action adaptation. During an interview with Happy Sad Confused, Joseph Quinn revealed the amount of time he has spent practising his delivery of “Flame on!” in order to prepare for the new The Fantastic Four movie.

Since it is one of the most iconic lines in the history of the franchise, we won’t be surprised if Quinn has been giving a lot of his time to it, and we aren’t shocked to learn how much it actually is. He revealed, “One hour, probably, collectively.”

What is the upcoming The Fantastic Four movie be about?

Unfortunately, there isn’t much known about The Fantastic Four’s plot so far, but we do know that it won’t feature the heroes’ origin story. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Feige said, “A lot of people know this origin story. A lot of people know the basics. How do we take that and bring something that they've never seen before?" He also said, "We've set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen."

During an interview with Collider back in 2023, director Matt Shakman claimed that The Fantastic Four will be “unlike anything you've seen before.” He said:

It's different in so many ways. I wish I could be specific. I wish I could say more. But we are doing things very differently from a story standpoint, from an approach to the filmmaking standpoint, that really fits the material. I wish I could say more. I would love to, but I can't. But I think it's going to be unlike anything you've seen before, and certainly unlike anything at Marvel that you've seen before.

Shakman also said that the team had been constantly working on the pre-production of the movie despite the strikes. He said that he was really excited about translating the effects and production designs into live-action in interesting ways. The most exciting part about The Fantastic Four is how it stays exciting while staying true to its scientific thing, which is something Shakman is excited and nervous about carrying out. Unfortunately, he couldn’t tell us any more than he did.
