GTA 6 preorders will go live this Thursday, June 25, heightening excitement for Rockstar Games' next open-world masterpiece following years of intense speculation and teaser material. The timing aligns perfectly with growing industry buzz around the title's ambitious scope and visual fidelity. This imminent preorder window offers fans their first official chance to commit to one of the most anticipated releases in gaming.
Retail listings from FNAC recently displayed the standard edition of GTA 6 at €89.99, roughly equivalent to $103 USD, with higher tiers reaching as much as €199.99 or about $230 USD. However, prominent Dealabs reporter billbil-kun clarified that these figures were merely placeholders. “So those prices are random ones,” they wrote.
Industry analysts have weighed in on the potential pricing for GTA 6. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella informed Eurogamer that the leaked price points appear “possible and plausible,” while noting that Rockstar and its parent company Take-Two Interactive could essentially set any figure they choose. Meanwhile, Rhys Elliott from Alinea Analytics suggested that although Rockstar might consider charging £100 or higher for the standard edition in the UK, it is unlikely, with expectations pointing toward a more standard £70-£80 range instead.
Elliott further elaborated that the base version of GTA 6 will likely align with typical consumer expectations for such a major release. He added that dedicated high-spending players, often referred to as “the whales,” are anticipated to opt for the pricier special editions. This strategy would help enhance overall profit margins for the developer without alienating the broader audience.
“Companies have been having it both ways like this for a while,” he told the outlet. “I think they’ll make the right call and price the base edition at £70-£80 in the UK. Rockstar, Strauss Zelnick and co. are too smart to go above that.”
GTA 6 preorders will open on June 25 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, with a new trailer expected to release along with the preorders. Beyond the standard edition, multiple premium versions are widely anticipated to be available for purchase by enthusiasts seeking additional content and features. There is also considerable speculation that Rockstar could drop another GTA 6 trailer during this period to further energize the community and drive preorder numbers upward.
GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version remains unannounced. The long-awaited sequel promises to deliver expansive new experiences in its signature open-world format.
