Ninety seconds, zero warning and one last look at Jason and Lucia before everything goes wrong — GTA 6's launch trailer just made the wait harder.

Rockstar Games has released the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI on Thursday, shadow-dropping a 90-second final look at Jason and Lucia's story just over a month before the game's November 19 release.

The trailer runs about 90 seconds, with every shot captured in-game on a base PlayStation 5. Rather than selling new systems or locations, it sells the relationship at the center of the game: Jason and Lucia as lovers and partners in crime, in over their heads across the state of Leonida.

Watch the launch trailer here:

Jason narrates the trailer, and his voiceover fills in his backstory. He got in trouble in the Army and did not leave on the best of terms, and lenders will not touch people like him. He is shown working at a marina, living a quiet life — until a collect call from Lucia in prison pulls him back in. From there the trailer cuts between the couple's intimate moments and the chaos around them: police chases, exploding helicopters, and Lucia leaping onto the landing gear of a moving airplane. Near the end, Lucia asks if they are going to be okay, and Jason answers that they just need to get through it.

The trailer's official description lays out the stakes: an easy score goes wrong, and the pair find themselves in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across Leonida, forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.

The trailer also underlines how close the finish line finally is. It is the game's third main trailer, following the record-breaking reveal in December 2023 and the second trailer that introduced Jason and Lucia's world in depth, and it lands after a marketing ramp that has already delivered new screenshots and soundtrack details in recent weeks. The footage carries PlayStation branding throughout — at one point an in-game controller resembling a DualSense appears — reflecting the promotional partnership between Sony and Rockstar for the launch. After more than a decade of development and two delays that pushed the game out of 2025, the launch marketing is now fully underway.

The music is a headline of its own. The trailer debuts "Flower in a Hurricane," a new track from electronic duo Justice — the composers of the game's original score — featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The song also appears on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack now open for pre-saves on streaming services and pre-orders on vinyl and CD.
