The GTA 6 age rating that was making rounds on the internet some time ago turns out to be fake, and there’s also no information on the game’s release date, as recently confirmed by the Australian Classification Board. So, it seems like we’re right back where we started without any official confirmation as to what fans can expect from the game.

While GTA 6 is one of the most eagerly-awaited games of all time, Rockstar Games still hasn’t revealed any official news, so all that we know about the game is through leaks and rumors. However, one of these leaks regarding the game’s age listing was recently declared fake in the latest statement revealed by the rating board.

The release date for Grand Theft Auto 6 will come at some point, and fans are eager to dive into the franchise’s next installment. With GTA 5 and GTA Online getting released more than ten years ago and with Red Dead Redemption 2’s updates having been stopped, it looks like GTA 6’s launch might just be next on Rockstar’s list.

However, as per the official statement sent by the Australian Classification Board to PCGamesN, the recent rumors about the game’s age rating should not be believed. Previously, we reported that GTA 6’s age rating was revealed on the Australian Classification Board, which came from Rockstar Games itself. After some snooping around, it was found that anybody could easily submit an age rating and have it show up on the website.

The Australian Classification Board confirmed that this is what happened and that the age listing was a fake. An inquiries officer from Australia’s classifications branch says, “The classification record for Grand Theft Auto 6 that previously appeared on the National Classification Database was unfortunately erroneous. This has now been removed from the Classification website.”

The board also talked about GTA 6’s release date, claiming that they don’t have any details on when the Rockstar game might come out. The branch says, “We appreciate that this is a highly anticipated release and there is strong interest in the gaming community but we have no further information available, such as the release date.

However, since these are all rumors, they should be taken with a grain of salt.
