All over the news and on social media is the world record-breaking GTA 6 trailer which ended the decade-long drought of the Grand Theft Auto fans on what the next step is for the game series. The GTA 6 trailer unveiled a familiar world to the players of the game with a new sense of modernization with the state of Leonida, the fictionalized version of Florida, and that includes Vice City. Now, eagle-eyed fans are convinced that since the game will be a modern version of the said place, they spotted what seems to be a Vice City character who may have appeared in the background in one of the scenes of the trailer: Lance Vance.
For those who are new to Grand Theft Auto, Lance Vance is the tritagonist in one of the previous games of the franchise being the GTA Vice City's second antagonist and GTA Vice City Stories' deuteragonist. He is best known for his white soiree suit with his purple undershirt. As the GTA 6 trailer has been out for a few days, eagle-eyed fans noticed a man donning an outfit similar to Lance Vance in one of the scenes of the trailer and are convinced that the character from Vice City made a cameo. On X (formerly Twitter), @Vinewood_motors zoomed in on the image. Check it below:
The said clip from the GTA 6 trailer is at the 33-second mark of the trailer. The detail is so minute that one would need to zoom in on that part to clearly see the man in the white suit and that part was only shown for a short while.
Is Lance Vance actually in the GTA 6 trailer?
As of the time of writing, there is still no confirmation yet from Rockstar Games whether the man wearing the white suit was actually Lance Vance from Vice City. Weighing in on the possibility, it is quite impossible to see Lance Vance in the GTA 6 trailer because first, the setting of Vice City and GTA 6 are around 40 years apart which makes the chance slim for a character from the former to appear on the latter unless they are seen as an old person; second, Lance Vance died in Vice City which means that he could not have been walking the streets of Leonida because he's already dead; and lastly, a white suit is so common that any man could wear it.
GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
