Fortnite and Rocket League Launch Summer Road Trip Event with Free Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 and Exclusive Skin

Get a free Fortnite skin and Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 during the Summer Road Trip event, but you'll need to play a bit of Rocket League.

Epic Games has announced the second annual Summer Road Trip event, a cross-game celebration between Fortnite and Rocket League, kicking off on July 22, 2025, and offering players a chance to unlock a variety of free rewards, including a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 car body, a Hairpin skin for Fortnite, and a Red Hot Chili Peppers jam track. This event, running through August 4 in Rocket League and August 7 in Fortnite, encourages players to engage in both titles to claim the full range of rewards, with some items exclusive to specific games. The event introduces a unique cross-game dynamic, blending quests and cosmetics in a way that ties the two popular titles together.

Event Structure and Fortnite Rewards

The Summer Road Trip event in Fortnite, officially titled Party Up - Summer Road Trip, begins on July 22 at 9 AM ET and concludes on August 7 at 2 AM ET. Each day from July 22 to July 28, players will receive a new quest designed to be completed in a party, alternating between earning XP in Epic-created modes, such as Battle Royale and Reload, and creator-made experiences. These quests remain available until the event’s end, giving players flexibility to complete them at their own pace.

The rewards for completing these quests are tiered, with each milestone unlocking a new cosmetic item. The full list of Fortnite rewards includes:

  • Complete 1 Quest: The Zephyr Song Jam Track by Red Hot Chili Peppers

  • Complete 2 Quests: Appeeling Drive Spray

  • Complete 3 Quests: Cool Sun Emoticon

  • Complete 4 Quests: Sunset Vibes Wrap

  • Complete 5 Quests: Sushi Scuba Spray

  • Complete 6 Quests: Quack Axe Pickaxe

  • Complete 7 Quests: Jelly Jammin’ Spray

  • Complete 8 Quests: Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Bundle (includes Car Body, Decals, and Wheels)

  • Special Quest (Favorite a Creator-Made Experience): Rubber Ducky Banner Icon

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Bundle, a highlight of the event, includes the car body, a set of wheels, and multiple decals: ZR1 Stripes, Sea Wolf Gray, Fish Farewell, and the exclusive ZR1 Circuit decal, which will not be available in the Fortnite or Rocket League item shops after the event concludes. Notably, the car body and wheels support cross-game ownership, meaning they can be used in both Fortnite and Rocket League if earned in either game.

Rocket League’s Role in the Event

In Rocket League, the Summer Road Trip event also begins on July 22, with most quests and rewards available immediately, though the final quest to unlock the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 becomes available on July 28. Players can earn the car body and its wheels by completing these quests, mirroring the reward structure in Fortnite. However, Rocket League offers additional rewards that are exclusive to Fortnite players, adding a layer of cross-game synergy.

By completing specific Rocket League challenges, players can unlock the following Fortnite-exclusive items:

  • Make 15 Saves in Online Matches: Hairpin Outfit, a pro-driver-themed skin

  • Play a Private Match with Custom Mutators: League Balloon Glider, designed to resemble a Rocket League ball

These items cannot be earned through Fortnite gameplay, requiring players to participate in Rocket League to complete their collection. This cross-game requirement marks a departure from last year’s event, which featured the controversial Tesla Cybertruck as its main reward and offered fewer cross-title incentives.

Comparison to Last Year’s Event

The 2024 Summer Road Trip event drew criticism for its Tesla Cybertruck reward, which sparked debate due to the vehicle’s polarizing real-world reputation. This year’s event shifts focus to the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, a high-performance sports car that has generated less controversy and aligns with Fortnite’s tradition of featuring iconic vehicles. Additionally, the 2025 event offers a broader range of rewards, including sprays, emoticons, and a pickaxe, compared to last year’s more limited selection, which included the Green Day jam track Holiday. The inclusion of Fortnite-exclusive rewards earned through Rocket League gameplay further distinguishes this year’s event, encouraging players to engage with both titles.

While most rewards from the Summer Road Trip event are likely to appear in the Fortnite and Rocket League item shops after the event concludes, the ZR1 Circuit decal remains exclusive to those who complete the event quests. Last year’s Cybertruck became available for purchase immediately after the event, suggesting that the Corvette ZR1 and The Zephyr Song jam track may follow a similar path. Players are encouraged to complete the quests during the event to secure the exclusive decal and avoid potential future costs.

The Summer Road Trip event coincides with other updates in Fortnite, including the extension of the fast-paced Blitz Royale mode for four additional weeks and a recent buff to the Superman mythic item, which has extended its transformation duration and enhanced its abilities. Epic Games continues to integrate real-world and pop-culture collaborations, with the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 joining previous vehicle crossovers like the Ferrari 296 and Batmobile. The event also aligns with rumors of a Rocket League 10th-anniversary celebration, though specific details remain unconfirmed.

In addition to the Summer Road Trip rewards, Fortnite players can look forward to Fantastic Four cosmetics, including skins and unique shoe-themed items, arriving in the item shop this Friday, July 25, 2025. These additions continue to expand Fortnite’s vibrant cosmetic offerings, keeping the game dynamic for its global player base.
