Lucasfilm has released the final trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu at CinemaCon 2026 today. The presentation highlighted the studio’s latest chapter in the long-running franchise, with the trailer now available for viewing on the official Star Wars YouTube channel. At the same time, ticket sales opened for the movie, giving audiences the chance to secure seats for what marks a major theatrical return for Star Wars.

The Star Wars saga has been a cornerstone of popular culture since its inception, inspiring generations with stories of heroism, redemption, and interstellar conflict. The live-action series The Mandalorian revitalized interest in the franchise by introducing new characters and exploring the galaxy in the era following the fall of the Empire. The Mandalorian and Grogu builds directly on that foundation, promising a feature-film experience that elevates the stakes for the titular duo.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film follows the adventures of the Mandalorian bounty hunter and his young companion as they take on new missions in a changing galactic landscape. The trailer showcases Din Djarin piloting a new ST-70 Gunship, Grogu wearing a mudhorn beskar rondel and snapping a salute, as well as the pair navigating mossy swamps and preparing for combat. In one scene, Sigourney Weaver’s character declares, “This isn’t about revenge. It’s about preventing another war.”

The trailer also features Rotta the Hutt, the muscular adult son of Jabba, appearing in a gladiatorial arena setting on what looks to be the Hutt homeworld of Nar Shaddaa, complete with its gritty urban sprawl and underworld atmosphere. Additional sequences show an injured Din Djarin facing intense confrontations amid the chaos, along with glimpses of a swamp planet that appears to be the Hutt homeworld of Nal Hutta.

Alongside the trailer, a new poster was revealed, featuring Grogu in a serene pose amid a misty, lush swamp environment filled with hanging vines and moss-covered surroundings.

The cast features several notable performers bringing the story to life. Pedro Pascal stars as Din Djarin, the iconic Mandalorian warrior. Sigourney Weaver appears as Colonel Ward of the New Republic’s forces. Jeremy Allen White provides the voice for Rotta the Hutt. The ensemble also includes Steve Blum as Zeb Orrelios and other actors in supporting roles that enrich the Star Wars universe.

Production details indicate a focus on practical effects and immersive world-building, consistent with the style established in the series. As the first Star Wars theatrical release in some time, The Mandalorian and Grogu is positioned to be a major event for moviegoers worldwide. The story is co-written by Favreau along with Dave Filoni and others, ensuring continuity with the established lore.

With advanced visual effects, a compelling narrative, and beloved characters, the film aims to appeal to both longtime enthusiasts and newcomers to the franchise. The availability of tickets allows audiences to plan their viewing experiences in advance, whether in standard formats or premium IMAX screenings. Marketing efforts are ramping up with additional character posters and theater merchandise expected soon, building anticipation for the big-screen adventure.
