Jake Lloyd has stepped back in front of the camera for the first time in years. The former child star, who played young Anakin Skywalker, appeared in videos this week alongside fellow prequel actor Daniel Logan to thank the fans who have stood by them.
The videos were shared on Logan's Instagram account (instadaniellogan) on Wednesday, with a follow-up clip of the pair joking around and posing for a photo arriving Thursday. Logan, 39, played young Boba Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, while Lloyd, 37, was eight years old when he filmed Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
In the first video, Logan told fans the pair wanted to send a special message to every Star Wars fan: "thank you so much." Lloyd nodded along and added, "Very, very much so," before reflecting on his time making the first prequel: "I really appreciate that time."
Logan also used the posts to address the treatment both actors received as children in the franchise. In his caption, he wrote that the two have faced bullying from adults, in person and online, since they were kids. "The limelight has been hard for both of us as kids," he shared, adding that he has only ever tried to bring positivity to the franchise. "I'm trying to bring Jake back to the SW universe," he wrote.

The appearance is a significant step in Lloyd's long road back. He was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2008 and largely withdrew from public life, and in March 2023 he suffered a psychotic break, turning off his mother's car in the middle of a three-lane road while she drove him home. He entered inpatient treatment after the incident and then spent 18 months in a rehabilitation facility.
His mother, Lisa Lloyd, has said he is doing far better than she expected — relating to people more easily, becoming more social, and seeming like his old self again once he began taking his medication regularly. She has also pushed back on the idea that her son turned against the franchise that made him famous, saying he loves the new Star Wars stories.
Lloyd retired from acting in 2001, just two years after The Phantom Menace, and public appearances since have been rare. Logan, by contrast, stayed close to the galaxy far, far away, returning to voice Boba Fett in animation and becoming a fixture on the convention circuit — which makes his role in Lloyd's re-emergence feel less like a photo opportunity and more like one prequel kid looking out for another.
For fans of the prequels, the videos carry a simple weight: Anakin and Boba Fett, together again, on their own terms — and grateful.
