Delicious in Dungeon Season 2 has offered a fresh look at four characters returning for the new episodes. The anime released new character visuals for Falin, Kabru, Mithrun and Thistle, showing how each of them will appear in the second season.
The main visual lines the four up full-body inside a red, ornately framed border, with the series logo and the Season 2 marking beside them. Falin wears a loose white robe with a blue outer cloak and a dark-blue cap, and she carries a tall dark staff.
Kabru stands in a gray tunic with brown leather chest armor and a long sword at his side. Mithrun wears a green cloak over a white tunic, while Thistle appears in a purple long-sleeved tunic with red trim and a pointed, bell-trimmed hem, holding a thin wand.
A second visual gives the same four characters a miniature treatment. The chibi versions keep the same order and the same outfits, with small changes such as Thistle now holding a book alongside the wand.
Director Yoshihiro Miyajima returns to direct the second season at TRIGGER. Kimiko Ueno, a scriptwriter on Little Witch Academia, handles series composition, while Naoki Takeda, chief animation director on BNA, provides the character designs. Yasunori Mitsuda, who scored Irina: The Vampire Cosmonaut, composes the music.
The second season will premiere on Netflix worldwide in October 2027. That window was first announced in July alongside an ultra teaser visual, and no specific premiere day has been announced yet. Until then, the new visuals give the clearest look yet at how the returning four will be drawn in the new season.
The first season premiered in January 2024 and ran for 24 Episodes on Netflix worldwide. It followed Laios's party as they cooked their way down through the dungeon in a race to rescue Falin from the Red Dragon.
What is Delicious in Dungeon about?
Delicious in Dungeon is based on the fantasy adventure and cooking manga by Ryoko Kui, which ran in Kadokawa's Harta magazine and was collected into 14 volumes. Yen Press publishes the manga in English, and TRIGGER's first season ran for 24 Episodes in 2024.
When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions...and a member! They're eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they're sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: "Let's eat the monsters!" Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons...none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!
