The end of the SAG-AFTRA strike has brought light to the films and series whose schedules were affected and as everyone moves forward, filming and productions continue as well. For the Marvel Cinematic Universe, once in the clear, the franchise revealed the new release dates of their upcoming movies like Blade, Captain America: Brave New World, and Thunderbolts. There's also Deadpool 3 which lands a significant release date as it falls exactly on the 11th year anniversary of The Wolverine, making Hugh Jackman's reprisal of the role more special.
Deadpool 3 marks the return of the Merc with a Mouth and this time, he is bringing a special friend of his whom he shares a deep history with in both comics and movies -- Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds will, of course, don the Deadpool suit once more and the role is just so perfect for him, he's like Deadpool incarnate. Reynolds will be joined by his dear friend, Hugh Jackman who will reprise his iconic role of Wolverine.
When is the new release date of Deadpool 3?
After facing a series of delays, even reaching to a point where it was indefinitely put on hold, Deadpool 3 finally rests on a fixed release date on July 26, 2024. This was the supposed release date of Captain America: Brave New World but since the delay due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the Anthony Mackie-led movie will be pushed back to nine more months as Deadpool 3 takes over the schedule. Ryan Reynolds proudly announced the date on X (formerly Twitter) with a familiar scene from his first film.
In the same post, @MaximumEffort noticed that the release date is quite a clever one, attaching an image which shows that the release date of Deadpool 3 falls exactly on the date when The Wolverine released in 2013. That being said, the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine becomes more special as he will don the Wolverine suit once more, 11 years after the release of his solo movie.
