Deadpool 3 has become one of Marvel’s most anticipated upcoming projects. With so many recent announcements and cameos confirmed for the title, the hype around it is real. The biggest announcement came when Ryan Reynolds and Disney Studios officially confirmed that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine, wearing the comic-accurate suit as well.
The movie wasn’t always this hyped, though, as when Disney purchased 20th Century Fox Studios, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding the future of the Deadpool franchise. This uncertainty didn’t last long, however, as Marvel Studios announced that a Deadpool movie was in the works, which would take place inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ryan Reynolds recently posted a tweet on his X account, which consisted of a Deadpool GIF from the original Deadpool film that came out back in 2016. The GIF shows a scene where Deadpool is causing a massacre on the highway and looking for Francis.
Francis was a villain in Deadpool (2016), played by Ed Skrein. In the movie, Deadpool ends up achieving his mission and killing Francis, although he does make a promise that he’ll be more heroic going forward. Although we know that Francis is technically dead, the upcoming Deadpool movie’s concept of the multiverse could introduce us to different variants of him who are still alive. For those who don’t know, Francis was the person who gave Wade Willson his invulnerability and essentially turned him into Deadpool.
Which actors will be featured in Deadpool 3?
Other than Hugh Jackman and Francis, Deadpool 3 is also confirmed to include other familiar characters in the movie. Jennifer Garner, who played Elektra multiple times in the early 2000s, is also confirmed to appear in the movie. She, along with Owen Willson’s Mobius, who is also reported to appear in the upcoming movie, appearing in the movie tells us that Deadpool 3 is all set to be a complete multiversal adventure!
Morena Baccarin will reprise her role as Deadpool's wife, Vanessa. Leslie Uggams will play the role of Blind Al, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Not only this, but a lot more talented and popular actors will be appearing in Deadpool 3!
Deadpool 3 has come a long way after getting delayed a couple of times due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now that the movie is confirmed to be a part of the MCU, we can’t wait to see what it has in store for viewers. The movie is set to premiere on July 26, 2024!
