Matthew Murdock has officially made his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in a cameo in the 2021 movie Spider-Man: No Way Home and a few episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. But before he begins his own series, Daredevil: Born Again, he’s about to make his return to the superheroes’ shared universe in Echo, and fans see him fight in a new video, which you can see below:

A preview of the upcoming Echo was revealed during a game broadcast on Sky Sports and was shared on YouTube by Ferhat Kucur. In the clip, Maya Lopez can be seen having an intense fight with Matthew Murdock, and knowing how these two possess incredible fighting skills, no one wants to give up.

Maya then gets a chance to escape Matthew when a man arrives to attack the latter, but the legal defense lawyer catches her up and gets the advantage. However, the scene is cut after Matthew slams her down with a metal storage rack. This scene of Maya and Matthew’s battle is briefly seen in a trailer released on December 17, 2023.

What to Expect from Daredevil: Born Again

So far, details about Daredevil: Born Again remain scarce, but the scooper site, The Cosmic Circus, claimed that it might feature the Devil’s Reign and Gang War story arcs from Marvel Comics. In Devil’s Reign, the conflict between Daredevil and Kingpin will be explored after the latter has become the mayor of New York City. With his newfound influence, he will use his political power to go against the vigilantes and make their activities illegal.

Alternatively, Gang War will see various criminal groups try to control the city’s underworld. It will delve into the forbidden world of New York City and see these factions, including Kingpin’s own organization, Maggia, and the Silvermane crime family, go to a brutal war to have control of the city’s criminal enterprises. Here, Daredevil and other street-level heroes will be caught in the middle of the fight as they try to protect the peace and order and save the innocent.

Daredevil: Born Again will see the return of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Matthew Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively. And after Marvel Studio’s reboot plans, which see the firing of writers and directors, the new creative team is now composed of co-directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, showrunner Dario Scardapane, and executive producers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, who used to be the series’ original showrunners.
