A new feature-length anime film based on Yusei Matsui's popular manga series is set to bring back the iconic Class 3-E students and their extraordinary teacher. Assassination Classroom The Movie: Our Time (Japanese title: Gekijōban Ansatsu Kyōshitsu: Minna no Jikan), the third and final project in the Assassination Classroom Anime 10th Anniversary initiative, has released its main trailer and key visual poster.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release in Japan on March 20, 2026. It features entirely new content, adapting episodes from the original manga that were previously omitted from the television anime adaptation due to time constraints. This makes the movie an essential continuation and expansion of the main story.

The production reunites much of the original team and cast. Directed by Masaki Kitamura in his theatrical feature debut, with animation production by studio Lerche. The script is handled by Makoto Uezu, who served in series composition roles on the TV anime, and character designs are by Aya Higami. Returning voice actors include Jun Fukuyama as Koro-sensei, along with Tomokazu Sugita, Mai Fuchigami, Nobuhiko Okamoto, Aya Suzaki, and others reprising their roles from the TV series.

The newly unveiled main trailer showcases upgraded animation quality, glimpses of intense action sequences, emotional classroom moments, and nostalgic callbacks to the series' signature blend of comedy and drama. The accompanying key visual poster prominently features the entire Class 3-E assembled with Koro-sensei, evoking the spirit of reunion and shared memories.

Adding to the excitement, the film's theme song has been announced as Teacher, a pop-rock track written and performed by singer-songwriter Sora Tomonari. The song is previewed in the trailer, providing an energetic and heartfelt backdrop to the visuals.

This project celebrates the 10th anniversary of the original Assassination Classroom anime, which aired its first season in 2015. The film aims to deliver a fresh yet faithful experience, inviting longtime viewers back to the classroom while incorporating untold stories from the manga.

What is Assassination Classroom about?

The Assassination Classroom manga series, written and illustrated by Yusei Matsui, was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016, spanning 21 volumes and achieving widespread popularity for its unique mix of action, comedy, and heartfelt character development.

Crunchyroll describes Assassination Classroom as follows:

Forget about homework and pop quizzes. The students of Class 3E have a far more important assignment: kill their teacher before the end of the year! A tentacle-d sensei that moves at Mach 20 is out to conquer the classroom after destroying seventy percent of the moon. In addition to reading, writing, and arithmetic, the murderous monster behind the lectern will teach his students everything he knows about the assassination game. Should some eager beaver prove to be a quick study in killing, he or she will save Earth from extinction – and collect a hefty reward.
