Ahsoka sets the bar high as the series opens the doors of possibilities for the future of Star Wars. In the finale of the Star Wars series a familiar face shows up: Anakin Skywalker! With a smile, his Force ghost looks at the titular character and Sabine Wren. The reason behind his appearance is finally revealed.
The finale of Ahsoka, titled The Jedi, The Witch, and The Warlord, unveiled a shocking turn of events with the escape of Grand Admiral Thrawn to the main galaxy, leaving behind Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, and Huyang stranded on Peridea. Still full of grace, even in defeat, Ahsoka did not let it get to her and she chooses to pick herself up. In the last moments of the finale, hope remains.

Morai, the symbol of the Daughter, a Force goddess, appears before Snips. The same goddess saved the life of Ahsoka in The Clone Wars and with her symbol comes hope. Not only that, the ghost of Anakin Skywalker appears before Ahsoka and Sabine as well, smiling at them.
The official Star Wars site reveals the real reason why Anakin Skywalker's ghost appeared and what the Morai really means to Ahsoka and the future of the franchise. The post indicates that the reason behind is "to give Ahsoka Tano signs that she’s exactly where she is supposed to be."
While it may seem that being abandoned in Peridea is not a good thing, the finale of Ahsoka shows the resilience and the wisdom of Ahsoka Tano. Even in the darkest of times, she believes that there is a reason for everything that is happening. Ahsoka knows that there is a need for her to remain there, whatever fate has in store for her.
These last scenes from the Ahsoka finale is a clear set up for the future of the franchise because clearly, there is more Ahsoka Tano's story which could continue in a second installment of the series or in another show. However, there is still no official confirmation yet whether there would be Ahsoka Season 2 but the sequel to the series could possible arrive even before the upcoming Star Wars film of Dave Filoni.

If and when Ahsoka Season 2 would be happening, there is a high chance that everyone would see Anakin Skywalker again. In Ahsoka Episode 5, titled The World Between Worlds, everyone witnessed the reunion between Ahsoka and Anakin, after which Ahsoka gets rescued by Hera Syndulla. Fans theorize that there's more to the return of Anakin Skywalker if there would be Ahsoka Season 2 because there were scenes from the trailers that weren't on any of the episodes.
Still, this is not new in massive franchises. Some cut scenes were intended to be included in trailers but those did not make it to the final release. One of the scenes which were on the teasers but not on any of the episodes are the words of Anakin to Ahsoka, "As your master, it’s my responsibility to prepare you. I won’t always be there to look out for you. Don’t be afraid, trust your instincts, I know you can do this Ahsoka." Instead of putting it to waste, the trailer gets everyone hyped up, serving its purpose.
All eight episodes of Ahsoka are now available to stream on Disney+.
