For more than four decades of introducing and saying goodbye to characters from different moments in time on the galaxy far, far away, new additions to the narrative continue to follow the same trend as that of the previous ones as regards whether they will continue or not. Recurring characters may be introduced at one point while there were those whose fate was already destined to end. As for Morgan Elsbeth, the actress playing the role in Ahsoka, Diana Lee Inosanto, had one meaningful request as regards her character's death while they were filming.
Morgan Elsbeth was first introduced in The Mandalorian Season 2 as one of the people of Grand Admiral Thrawn. A descendent of the Nightsisters of Dathomir, Elsbeth was granted the Blade of Talzin in Ahsoka where she later found her demise. This scene was revealed to be special to actress Diana Lee Inosanto as she explained her time on the franchise on the official Star Wars website:
Ming came up with the idea of taking the spine of the Talzin blade and using it, redirecting the [Nightsisters] magik. I wanted so much to have a powerful ending. I requested that [Elsbeth] would die by her own weapon.
The death of Morgan Elsbeth happened in the Chimaera, Thrawn's Star Destroyer, while it was preparing to make a jump to hyperspace to bring Thrawn and his people to their home. However, this did not work out for Morgan when her very own weapon was drilled onto her, causing her death.
Will there be Ahsoka Season 2?
As of the time of writing, there is still no confirmation from Lucasfilm yet whether there would be Ahsoka Season 2 but as per the lead actress in the series, Rosario Dawson, creator Dave Filoni was already making an outline for the upcoming season. The first season of Ahsoka was released August and it concluded its eight episodes which spanned until October of the same year. While it may considerably be quite early for Ahsoka Season 2 to have a confirmation, some shows under Lucasfilm were given a green light even before its predecessor ended its first run.
With Ahsoka Season 2 still hanging, some of the characters like Morgan Elsbeth had sealed their fates when they either die or live long enough for another appearance.
