The actress playing the character, Diana Lee Inosanto, reveals the secrets behind her fighting style and how she brought the skills of Elsbeth to life in a way that's close to her heart.
The fight choreography of Ahsoka garnered praise from all over the world because of the uniqueness of each fight and the usage of distinct weapons. Star Wars witnessed a lot of fighting scenes over the years but Lady Morgan Elsbeth has something exceptional, personal, and unique to her fighting style. In a clip shared by Star Wars, actress behind Lady Morgan Elsbeth, Diana Lee Inosanto, reveals the secret behind her fighting style:
I wanted that to just be this defining moment. I remember twirling and it was nice because in that fight scene, particularly with the stunt team, I was able to utilize a lot of my own roots under my father, Dan Inosanto. So you'll see there's a little bit of Filipino martial arts. There's a little bit of Krabi-Krabong.
Inosanto added that having the Talzin blade reconnected her to her Wushu roots. See the clip above and here's what Inosanto said:
And what I love is by the time I got cast in Ahsoka, I loved working with Ming Qui. I got to be reconnected with my Wushu roots, so I loved the creativity with the Talzin blade.
Diana Lee Inosanto is a stuntwoman and martial artist alongside being a director and an actress. She is the daughter of Dan Inosanto, one of the best martial artists in Hollywood who trained with huge martial artists such as Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Denzel Washington, and more.
Is it possible for Lady Morgan Elsbeth to return in Star Wars?
Ahsoka Season 1 revealed the fate of Diana Lee Inosanto's Morgan Elsbeth. She was given the Talzin blade by the Great Mothers and she went to Peridea to confront Ahsoka Tano along with the Night Troopers who kept resurrecting after being killed because of the Great Mothers' skills. Elsbeth met her end from Ahsoka. This is a seemingly conclusive death but who knows what other twists do Star Wars have up their sleeves?
See, the Great Mothers could resurrect and this could be one of the possible ways on how Lady Morgan Elsbeth could come back to life in the future of the franchise. Elsbeth is a pivotal character to Grand Admiral Thrawn who is more than just a loyalist to him but also a Nightsister of Dathomir. Whether Elsbeth would be back remains a question only the future Star Wars projects could answer.
