VIZ Media and Marvel have teamed-up to bring back classic mangas, including the X-Men: The Animated Series manga adaptation from 1998, which is expected to get remastered with an English deluxe edition this year.
Marvel.com and VIZ Media's social media accounts shared the announcements, which also mentioned Spider-Man: Octo-Girl, Vol. 1, a title originally published by Shueisha in Japan. The new deal also includes Deadpool: Samurai - The Official Coloring Book, featuring 80 pages of Hikaru Uesugi's artwork of Marvel characters.
The X-Men manga by Hiroshi Higuchi follows Jubilee as she has to leave her "normal life" behind when "the mutant-hunting robots known as Sentinels come after her." Despite the popularity of the manga, the adaptation has been out of print for years, but it looks like Marvel is taking advantage of the proximity of Disney+'s upcoming X-Men '97 animated series, which will reportedly premiere in mid-March 2024. The manga will be a newly-translated deluxe edition.
