Just a day after the Disney+ premiere of X-Men '97's most shocking episode yet, Marvel Animation has released a new teaser trailer that will surely get fans hyped for the remaining episodes of the show's first season. The new video highlights the destruction of Genosha in X-Men '97 Episode 5 that left viewers reeling, but it looks like one of the Earth's Mightiest Heroes will be involved. As you can see in the 33-second mark of the teaser, Captain America's iconic shield can be seen.

Captain America is one of the characters that appeared in X-Men: The Animated Series, so it's very possible to see the Avenger make his cameo in the second half of X-Men '97 Season 1. There's also a chance that this could be just an Easter egg, but fans can expect more surprising cameos in the remaining episodes of the Disney Plus animated series.

X-Men '97 will likely feature more cameos

In a recent interview with Men's Health, Marvel Animation executive producer Brad Winderbaum explained that the X-Men already have a larger universe that they're a part of. This means that we can expect non-X-Men characters show up in X-Men '97 at some point. It's still unclear if that will happen in the next episode, but we'll just have to wait until next Wednesday to find out.

"We have a great executive who works for us named Drew River, who manages the continuity of the timeline. And obviously that becomes more complex as you enter the multiverse saga and tracking multiple timelines," Winderbaum revealed. "X-Men '97 fits into that '90s timeline, along with the OG series, as well as those concurrent '90s shows that would sometimes cross over with the X-Men. The potential is always there. Without going into spoiler territory, the original show does have a lot of fun cameos, and '97 carries that torch."
