Disney+ has unveiled new stills for Made in Korea 2 that spotlight the transformed portrayals of Won Ji-an, Cha Hee, and Seo Eun-soo. The images capture each actress in a markedly different light from their earlier appearances, underscoring the passage of time and shifting dynamics within the high-stakes narrative.
The first installment of Made in Korea chronicled the actions of Baek Ki-tae (Hyun Bin), whose hunger for riches and control shaped every decision he made. Standing against him was prosecutor Jang Geon-young (Jung Woo-sung), a figure who gave up personal security and professional standing in his campaign to rein him in. Together they navigated a major upheaval that defined the turbulent atmosphere of 1970s South Korea.
Made in Korea 2 picks up the narrative nine years beyond the close of the prior season. It centers on Baek Ki-tae operating from a position of maximum influence, Jang Geon-young methodically building his opposition, and Baek Ki-hyun (Woo Do-hwan) seeking authority through avenues separate from those of his elder brother. The unchecked escalation of their respective goals destabilizes existing balances and produces a split that cannot be mended.
Won Ji-an returns as Ikeda Yuji, the adopted daughter of Ikeda (Lily Franky) who once aligned herself with Baek Ki-tae in pursuit of sweeping ambitions. The newly released images place the character in a far more daring light than before, with an extended hairstyle and elegant coat that create an entirely altered atmosphere. A large tattoo across her back that represents the Ikeda organization immediately draws the eye and signals her deeper entanglement in the power structure.
Having carefully prepared her own course of action, the specific choices Ikeda Yuji will make to upend the larger contest of influence have yet to be revealed. Her presence now carries an intensity that suggests she is no longer content to remain on the sidelines of the unfolding struggle.
Cha Hee portrays Baek So-young, the older sister of Baek Ki-hyun and younger sister of Baek Ki-tae. In the earlier season she assisted Baek Ki-tae with his business ventures while demonstrating unwavering loyalty to her family. Those earlier images presented her in a relatively restrained manner that reflected her supportive position within the household.
The latest still, however, shows Baek So-young in glamorous clothing and carefully applied makeup that stand in sharp contrast to her former understated look. A tense expression paired with a noticeably sharper demeanor adds layers of curiosity about the personal changes she has undergone during the nine-year gap. The visual shift hints that her role within the family and the broader power struggle may no longer be the same.
Seo Eun-soo takes on the role of Oh Ye-jin, the determined investigator who previously exposed the inner workings of a vast criminal network through decisive and fearless efforts. In the new season she rises to become South Korea’s first female prosecutor, continuing to forge her independent path even as others regard her progress with disapproval. How she will handle the complex cases awaiting her after nearly a decade remains an open question.
The new stills show Oh Ye-jin carrying the quiet strength accumulated over the intervening years through a more refined presence, focused eyes, and assured bearing. After receiving a request from the Joint Investigation Headquarters she travels to Seoul, where she is poised to resume her professional partnership with Jang Geon-young for the first time in nine years.
Made in Korea 2 comprises a total of six episodes and begins its run by releasing the first two installments on September 9. From that point forward, pairs of episodes will become available each Wednesday until the full season reaches its conclusion.
